Barrett Sallee said the spread for Alabama-Wisconsin game was 'disrespectful'

If a coach, sportswriter, or oddsmaker honestly believed Alabama was a 15-16 point favorite then how in the world is that disrespectful? They are just giving their honest opinion. If they lessened the point spread out of so-called respect wouldn't that mean they were being dishonest. If Bama had only beaten Whisky by a few points, he would be thumping his chest. The victory margin was 32 points which shows Sally doesn't know as much as he thinks.

The game opened at BAMA -8.5 and was quickly bet to -16 by sharps. Vegas doesn’t give a shite about respect or feelings.

I've paid attention to this guy over the years. He's really bad at picking football games. No shite.

Is disrespectful to who? Alabama? Alabama doubled up the point spread.

Are we allowed as fans to collectively put out disrespectful lines or was that Vegas? If so I got one for UGA.

I bet he feels the final score was also disrespectful.

In his defense, he did own up to this post yesterday afternoon. However, I think his original analysis missed the fact that Alabama's first string OL was going to be starting their first game of the season after being reshuffled shortly before kickoff against Western Kentucky.

Dude been a bit of a Bama hater for years. Maybe not in a very direct way but when he can get a jab in, he's taking it. Think he was an Auburn beat writer for a bit and it always seems that beat cultivates koolaid drinkers.

His original "analysis" was likely born from the trash he reads on the Barn message boards he frequents. He's only admitting he was wrong because he has to maintain some veneer of professionalism. Dude should just stay away from commenting on Alabama in general. He's not capable of objectivity.

Found your mistake right off the bat.

Everything.
He’s just an Auburn fan who somehow gets paid to rile up Bama fans by saying bad things about them whenever possible.

Barrett Sallee being called a sportswriter is disrespectful to other sportswriters.

Very few of them left with respect, so it would be hard to disrespect the lot of them.

While we were having a weird game with USF, Wisconsin was having fundamental offensive issues against WMU and South Dakota

The guy has openly hated on Bama for years. Our sports information media team should issue him a restraining order to stay away from the program. He’s the Auburn version of Clay Travis.

point spreads are usually set by Vegas.

I’m sure Vegas will start taking how disrespectful to the fans a large spread against the home team is into account in the future. This generation is really about solving the problems we face in the sports betting world today, and I for one find it refreshing.
