Alabama opened the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with a big swim in the 800 freestyle relay, which led the Crimson Tide to a top 10 day-one finish in the team standings at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Morgan Scott, Cora Dupre, Gracie Felner and Kalia Antoniou used a school-record swim of 7:00.38 to take sixth place in the first event of the championships and Wednesday's only event. The finish gave Alabama 26 points, good for sixth place after day one.

It marked the third time this season that the Tide has bettered the school mark in the 800 freestyle relay. It was also the first time the Alabama women have scored in the 800 freestyle relay at the NCAA Championships since 2001 and the first time UA has finished in the top-eight at nationals since 1986.

More than anything, we're ready to come back tomorrow and keep this thing rolling."

No. 11 Alabama Rowing Ready for Dual Meet Against No. 8 Tennessee in Oak Ridge

The dual meet, previously slated to take place in Tuscaloosa, was moved to Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Despite a late venue change, 11th-ranked Alabama will still compete in a dual meet against No. 8 Tennessee on Saturday, March 20 with four races starting at 8 a.m. CT.

The Crimson Tide and Lady Vols were slated to compete on the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa but storms and rain during the week flooded the river and increased the current to dangerous speeds, forcing a venue change. The teams will now head to Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., where the Tide just competed last weekend at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational.

Rhyan White Takes Silver in the 100 Backstroke, Alabama Remains Sixth at Women’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

White made the championship final of the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly and led the Crimson Tide’s 200 medley relay to a sixth-place finish on the championships’ third day

A trio of big swims from Rhyan White helped keep the Crimson Tide in sixth place through three days of competition at the Women's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships being held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C., this week.

White came up huge with a silver-medal finish in the 100 backstroke after taking fifth in the 100 butterfly just three events earlier. White posted a school-record 50.75 in the prelims of the 100 butterfly before going 50.99 in finals. She then came back with a 50.21 in the finals of the 100 backstroke to take second place.

White finished off her night by leading off the 200 medley relay that included Kaila Wong, Morgan Scott and Kalia Antoniou. The quartet finished sixth in a time of 1:35.80. It marked Alabama's third relay to finish in the top eight and the fourth relay to score at these championships.

Scott also earned individual points for the Crimson Tide on day three, tying for first place in the B final of the 200 freestyle and tying for ninth overall with a 1:44.39.

Alabama remains in sixth place as a team with 155 points with one day remaining at the championships. At this point in the meet, Alabama is the top-ranked Southeastern Conference Championship team.
