I’ve got the back to back to back T-shirt. And aren’t the men’s and women’s teams the current reigning national champions?

The Crimson Tide won the 200 freestyle relay for the first time since 1983 while Kalia Antoniou won the 50 freestyle to give the Tide three championships over the first two days of the meet

Alabama Women Earn More Gold on Day Two of the SEC Swimming & Diving Championships

After opening the Southeastern Conference Championships with its first relay win since 1985, the Alabama women's swimming and diving kept things rolling on day two of the meet, with two more victories. The championships are being held concurrently in Athens, Ga. (women's swimming), and Columbia, Mo. (men's and women's diving).

One night after winning the 200 medley relay, the Crimson Tide used another big swim to close day two by taking the top spot on the podium in the 200 freestyle relay. Kalia Antoniou, Morgan Scott, Flora Molnar and Cora Dupre used a school-record 1:27.02 to take gold. It was just the Tide's second 200 freestyle relay title in school history and first since 1983.

It was the second medal of the night for both Antoniou and Dupre went one-two in the 50 freestyle, with Antoniou winning in a time of 21.69, while Dupre went 21.82. Both women went under the previous school record and became the second and third women in UA history under 22 seconds.

Kensey McMahon also made the championship final, taking fifth overall in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:40.06.

Alabama is currently third in the team race with 345 points, following Florida (393) and Georgia (363).

This Track and Field update is a first for me. Looks like Bama started out ranked pretty high in the polls:

The Crimson Tide women are No. 5 and the men are No. 8 in USTFCCCA polls. Alabama is one of six schools in the country to have both the men's and women's team be ranked in the top 10. The No. 5 ranking for the women is the best mark received by the program in the poll since the final rankings of the 2017 season and the first time Alabama has been ranked on week one. For the men, its No. 8 ranking marks its best since the final rankings of the 2019 season.

Track and Field Ranks Top-10 Nationally

If I’m reading the polls correctly, the women are now 12th and men 14th as of week 4.

Upcoming SEC Indoor Championship:
Alabama returns to Fayetteville for the 2021 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championship meet will take place over the course of three days, from Feb. 25-27.
