Every sport has concluded their season so I'm unpinning this thread. We can start up a new one in the Fall.

Nice work.

Ready to Roll: Former Dorman, NGU sprinter Buckley will join Crimson Tide

quote:

An April graduate of North Greenville University, Buckley will take advantage of one full year of eligibility to realize a childhood dream as he will run at the University of Alabama.

"I wanted to go to Alabama out of high school," he said. "Through my four years at North Greenville, which I believe is exactly where God wanted me to be, I prayed for a chance to also have the opportunity to be where I had always wanted to be. To have this chance to finish my final year of eligibility at the University of Alabama, I can't really put into words how that makes me feel. It really, truly is a blessing."

For Utah swimmer Rhyan White, the Olympics wasn’t so much a question of if, but when

Former Cottonwood High swimmer took her considerable talents to Alabama, where she was a 10-time All-American and the 2021 SEC Swimmer of the Year. Now she’s taking her show to the Summer Games, like she always knew she would

I want to down vote that last 2 posts shows how quickly 2 bad hires can wreck a program. Honestly reminds me of my days there

Even more surprising that Byrne made a bad hire.

I have an incredibly hard time palating the fact he didn't retain Jonty in some fashion. Hysterically, he also quit on his next team, around January The man was a national team director or coach for years, on top of 2 different stints of getting us to a top 10 program. Coley has always been controversial, and now he's a quitter. I know i sound like I'm beating a dead horse... but all my bama fandom grew from this sport.

I will say on the overall whole, I'm pretty darn content with his performance. I won't let this sour me, yet. We just had our best capital one finish ever, to my knowledge. Something must be working out. Maybe we'll suck enough i can return with a preferred walk-on and finish up my degree

Digging up last year’s Swimming/Diving thread to share this info with Moarkilometers:

quote:

Alabama Pro Updates@BamaProUpdates·12h
Abbas Qali has apparently retired from competitive swimming. Qali, who represented Kuwait at two Olympics, goes out on a high note, winning 4 gold medals at the Gulf State Games this week.

+++++++Last year’s thread++++++++
quote:

quote:
Former Alabama swimmer Abbas Qali qualified for his second Olympics, when he posted 53.28 seconds in a time trial for the 100-meter butterfly over the weekend. He's the only Kuwaiti to participate in a 100m event at the Olympic Games, when he competed in Rio in 2016.

quote:

Fun filled fact... yours truly was the first Alabama swimmer to train with the Kuwaiti national team. I did it in Denver, summer before my freshman year. 2 other future Bama walk ons were on the Kuwaiti squad... and I hysterically swam with those 2 back home in Florida. Shout out to Waleed and Khalid for the pipeline
