Greed has always been there. The difference now are the people that actually create the demand are getting paid.
If you think coaches getting 7 to 8 figures and teams getting revenue from games, TV, and bowls over 100 million a year was not greed curious how you perceived that. Not to mention the price of tickets, lodging, concessions, etc. that was already over the top before NIL.
I am not advocating for or against NIL but when so many other people were getting rich off those that actually created the product not sure what people expected to happen.

People want to get paid nothing wrong with it. If you were in the players shoes you would want to get paid as well.
NCAA just needs to reign in how the negotiations with schools and players happen along with putting some rails in place for the transfers.
Don't see how this doesn't end with some sort of no collective bargaining with a players group

in pro sports you have salary caps etc. A CFB QB is demanding up to 4 M. I dont think a third round NFL player gets 4 M per year in his rookie contract.
I think there needs to be more transparency in the portal but I am not smart enough to have answers to any of it.

The cat is out of the bag. Reigning in is not an option now. The NCAA basically is saying you got what you wanted. Live with it.

To who? The people who wanted this are perfectly happy with the results.

It's open season. Now they are trying to make any transfer immediately eligible without sitting out a year no matter how many times you transfer. The highest bidder wins. Have a good year and shop around for more money. It is what it is.

Happy about what? The reason why we are going to have NFL light is because the NCAA and conferences have gorged themselves on these TV deals. I've advocated for the conferences to be less greedy and have a reasonable plan for revenue share. The NIL management is just part of the plan to dissolve the conferences as fast as possible.

I thought the NCAA was trying to push only 1 transfer without having to sit out.

Should Jeremy Pruitt be able to come back to college?
What he did happened right before the NIL and Transfer Portal

I’m jealous about that too… but their pockets aren’t endlessly deep. At some point they run out of cash

Ole Miss just picked up USCe WR Juice Wells from the portal.
Kiffin is killing it with the portal right now.

Kidding is doing a fantastic job, but it does seem that he’s not being very critical. Wells is the same guy that rode the bench for USCe, collected a paycheck, and left.
Everyone thinks that portal players are game changers, but when you are trying to be elite in the SEC, portal players are depth additions / plug-ins. They have questionable allegiance to a school, and are more concerned with play time over all else. Bama can’t sell immediate playing time to many people…

Yes NCAA is. But there is a lawsuit to allow unlimited transfers and no sitting out.
"The lawsuit, which alleges the NCAA transfer rule’s waiver process violates federal antitrust law, could have a profound impact on college sports if successful. In court documents, the NCAA has said the plaintiffs “seek to remake collegiate athletics and replace it with a system of perpetual and unchecked free agency.”

Sooner rather than later the NCAA will have a choice to make; it and it's member institutions will stop capitalizing directly on kids likenesses, jerseys and what not or live with the consequences. This antitrust stuff isn't going away now that a federal judge is involved.

The plan is they will continue with conference expansion and then the top 2 or 3 remaining conferences will break away from NCAA and operate as some version of a pro league in conjunction with the TV networks.

What is eventually going to happen is there will be 2-4 conferences break away from the FBS and create a league where schools can enter into contracts with players, solving the transfer issue and separating schools that can/willing to pay from schools that cannot/will not.
