Alabama Swimming and Diving Has Five Slated for International Competition in December

Rhyan White, Kalia Antoniou, Diana Petkova and Kaique Alves are headed to the FINA World Championships along with Team USA assistant coach Ozzie Quevedo, while Mohamed Farouk will compete at the World Junior Diving Championships

Alabama Women’s Tennis Inks Rebeka Kern to NLI

Alabama women's tennis signed Rebeka Kern to the class of 2022, the program announced Tuesday.

Kern is elite player out of Pliezhausen, Germany. Over the past year, she won the International Tennis Federation (ITA) J4 Schifflange title in Luxembourg in straight sets, after advancing her way through six matches to earn a spot in the finals. Kern also earned a spot in the finals in doubles at the ITF J4 Schifflange, where she suffered a heartbreaking three-set 10-point tiebreak loss. Kern also saw success at the German National Championships, finishing as the tournament runner-up.

Alabama Swimming and Diving Legends Don Gambril and Christine Jarvis Earn CSCAA Centennial Honors

The Tide’s legendary coach and its first individual women’s national champion were named to the coaches’ association Top-100 coaches and student-athletes, respectively

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Alabama coaching legend Don Gambril and the first member of the women's program to win national titles, Christine Jarvis, have been honored as part of College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) Centennial Celebration.

The CSCAA named the 100 Greatest College Swimming & Diving Coaches and Swimmers & Divers of the past 100 years, with Gambril earning a spot on the coaches list and Jarvis garnering a place among the top 100 women's swimmers & divers. A blue ribbon of more than fifty voters made the selections.

Alabama Divers Set for 2021 Auburn Diving Invitational

The Crimson Tide diving corps will compete in all three diving events over four days of competition

AUBURN, Ala. – The Alabama diving corps is set to compete at the Auburn Diving Invitational Dec. 15-18 at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center in Auburn, Ala.

The meet will be the last of 2021 for the Crimson Tide and comes after a strong showing at the Tennessee Invitational in late November. Tanesha Lucoe won the platform event in Tennessee, while Mohamed Farouk and Kevin Li went 1-2 off the 1-meter springboard.

The meet will feature Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Tennessee with Halia Bower, Natalie Donkle, Lucoe and Courtney Russo slated to compete for the Tide women and Li and Hunter Jaynes going for the UA men. Coming off last week's FINA World Junior Diving Championships, Farouk won't compete in Auburn.

Bower took fifth off the 1-meter springboard in finals after placing eighth following the preliminary round

The Schedule
Thursday's events include the men's 1-meter springboard at 11 a.m. and the women's 3-meter at 3 p.m.
Friday includes the men's 3-meter springboard at 11 a.m. and the women's platform at 3 p.m.
The meet closes on Saturday with the men's platform at 11 a.m.

Alabama Posts Four Top-10 Finishes on Day Two of the Auburn Diving Invitational

Alabama posted four top-10 finishes on Thursday, the second day of the Auburn Diving Invitational being held at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center on the Auburn campus this week.

Kevin Li got day two started off with a third-place finish in the men's 1-meter springboard event, tallying a season-best score of 363.90 points in finals. Li jumped six places between prelims and finals after totaling 288.90 points over the first round of dives.

Hunter Jaynes also posted a top-10 finish off the 1-meter, taking seventh place after accruing 311.25 points in finals. Jaynes moved up three spots in finals after placing 10th with 272.45 points in prelims.

The Crimson Tide also posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the women's 3-meter springboard event. Halia Bower, who was fifth off the 1-meter board on Wednesday, took sixth off the 3-meter with 275.00 points in finals, while Courtney Russo was eighth with 264.40 points. Natalie Donkle scored 240.90 points to take 15th place. Bower was also sixth in prelims after totaling 272.20 points, while Russo moved up five places in finals after finishing 13th in prelims with 240.60 points.
