It's a slow time of year and Finebaum needs some material. Not a surprise. McElroy is starting to become really annoying, too.

Bryce had all day most of the time. He held on to the ball too long because our route combinations were awful. We were essentially playing backyard football. Our issues begin and end with coaching.

I'm hoping at least one of our QBs show out this Saturday just to make Finebaum look like an idiot...this A day game should reveal a lot.

Apparently according to a BOL poster we've been in contact with a "big name" QB(not Drake Maye) but he's waiting on a bigger deal. He might jump in the portal or he might stay put.

Gotta love those type of nuggets.

I'll be willing to bet $100 none of this comes to fruition. People love to troll Alabama fans because we're so passionate.

If something like that happens it would absolutely blow up our QB room. I'd expect Milroe and Simpson to immediately peace out, Holstein and Lonergan to start having second thoughts, and maybe even Sayin reconsider his commitment.

Exactly. It would turn team chemistry on its head.

Finebaum and Mcelroy may have heard that, but I find it hard to believe that Milroe and Ty are so bad that Saban would be giving up on both this quick. And I find it hard to believe that if they were doing that poorly, that we wouldn't have heard a lot about that at this point.

Not so sure about that. Sayin is locked in. Holstein and Lonergan aren't going anywhere.

Btw the poster who said it has had decent info in the past but I'm sure nothing will come of it. Just a lot of noise right now.

I still don't get where this is coming from with Finebaum. Milroe and Simpson are plenty capable. Very talented players. They should be able to be developed into good QBs for what we need.

I mean, it's two weeks into April with a new OC calling the shots. Neither of the two QBs are going to be a finished product. Finebaum's a POS that's always looking to cause our program misery.

I want to point out this rumor came out in December and that it was likely they would pursue a QB after spring. There will be plenty of options in next few weeks.

Maybe for depth but you ain't finding a high quality SEC caliber starting QB in the post-spring portal unless something very unexpected happens.

Basically that Milroe and Ty aren't it

Could it also maybe mean someone has essentially won the job and we are expecting a transfer out? To me thats every bit as believable as

I’m not a scout or anything but I thought both Simpson and Milroe looked the part. Not perfect but plenty athletic and have nice spin on the ball. I think Milroe has improved touch on the ball and his pocket presence. Simpson I don’t know what he’s improved I haven’t seen him much but he looked pretty good.

Milroe had a great first half of the day. Simpson never got into a rhythm but most of his snaps were with the 2s against the 1s. I've been to 3 of these things over the past few years and the defenses always seem to dominate. Might be part of the practice structure. I genuinely thought we were in trouble watching Bryce Young prior to his Heisman year

Go back and watch some games from last year. Bryce missed a lot of check-downs as well as opportunities to throw receivers open. 1) Bryce needed to stop looking for the home run ball every play. 2) He needed to not stand there and wait for somebody to get wide-open.

At some point last year Bryce lost a lot of confidence in his abilities. For instance, he just flat yipped when he badly under-threw Burton on a sure touchdown early against Kansas State.

That said, I love the guy and would take him back in a heartbeat.

Bryce definitely had some bad moments last year even though we all know that he's outstanding overall. Bleeding the play clock down to almost zero every play drove me nuts. I hope that dosen't happen this year unless it's a situation where we're trying to bleed the clock to win a game.

Yeah it could be the player difference with the 2 and 1 groups and I’m sure that is a factor. I didn’t go to scrimmage 1 I wish I would have. I don’t have a measuring stick for Simpson.

Like I said before Milroe to me looked good. It seems like you saw the same.

Alabama QB Bryce Young has canceled his remaining pre-draft visits, per sources — another sign to back up belief within the league that the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner will be the #Panthers’ pick at No. 1 overall.

Young also visited the #Texans, who draft No. 2.

I don't have to go back and watch games, I actually agree with you. I think Bryce lost confidence in the scheme and was more injured than we know. Even with that, BoB still wouldn't run the ball. It all comes back to coaching.

Part of the reason we didn't run the ball as much was because Jase and Roydell weren't 100% recovered from their knee injuries suffered in 2021. Gibbs was an amazing athlete but he's not a power back.
