The defense was without several key players. Kool Aid, Braswell, Turner and Lawson were all out. Grain of salt and such.

I actually saw the scrimmage. Jalen looked amazing. Had a sweet TD run too

If he actually makes huge strides as a passer, he’ll be insane. We have no reason to not root for him. It’s not like this is a Hurts situation where we are worried Saban might roll with the established starter. If he’s not good, he probably doesn’t start

It's an interesting situation because Ty Simpson is incredibly talented in his own right. I want to see how both guys are utilized because neither really has a lot of in game experience. Yes, Milroe started the A&M game but other than that he hasn't played a lot in college. I think that this is an advantage because no opponents have seen them in our offense and they will have to adjust as the season unfolds. Last year, opponents had an entire offseason of film on Bryce and knew how to affect him.

On a related note, am I the only one who can't stand Stephen M. Smith ?

There is no way that guy talks like that in real life.

The line looked fine, though a lot of guys were out.

Ty either had a great pass or was "sacked."

Downs is legit as hell. So is Haynes.

We need Downs to be legit. We’ve had some shaky safety play lately.

I don’t think so. Also it’s hard to assess because no one really know what to look for as we are going to have a new offensive scheme.

Defensively a lot of regulars are out.

I don't think this is true at all. Rees is using the existing playbook and just adding his own wrinkles/flair.

From Saban:
quote:

“Offense was great today,” Saban said shortly after practice. “Tommy does a great job with the players, players like him. He’s taken our system and pretty much using our system that we use, added some things to it.”

Hopefully he’s adding a running game.
