It was not immediately clear what was Battle’s reason for pulling out of the annual college football all-star game and NFL draft showcase.
He gonna come back for another year?

Tuscaloosa News
Alabama football legend Paul 'Bear' Bryant's life, 40 years after his death
Forty years ago, the nation mourned the loss of a football coaching legend from the University of Alabama.
Paul William "Bear" Bryant died at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 26, 1983, at the age of 69 at Druid City Hospital after suffering cardiopulmonary arrest. He passed away just 28 days after coaching his last game, a 21-15 Crimson Tide victory over the University of Illinois at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee.
He finished his coaching career with 323 wins and six national championships.
Thousands of mourners attended Bryant's funeral in Tuscaloosa, which was so large that it was held in three churches on Greensboro Avenue. Bryant's hearse was driven 60 miles from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham for his burial at Elmwood Cemetery. The funeral procession measured three miles long, consisting of more than 300 cars and six buses carrying Bryant's last UA team and many of his former players.

My saddest day as an Alabama fan. It was just unbelievable that he could die so suddenly.

Bryant “could take his'n and beat your'n, then take your'n and beat his'n.”

This was not just a pithy line either; he could really do that. It was his greatest strength.

so now we know why our starter at LG jumped ship? I assume it was him requesting 1.3M.

From my understanding, Cormani asked for 800K and Cohen asked for 500K and his girlfriend to get into Law school.

Nick said 1.3M. Was that what each wanted or the total of the two?

The article said he requested $300,000 and for his girlfriend to be accepted into the law school and for it to be paid for.

If Cohen, some nerve he had when he was in a battle for his spot with a freshman.

"One of them wanted $500,000 and for us to get his girlfriend into law school at Alabama and pay for it. I showed him the door," Saban reportedly said.

The Fox News linked article said he requested $500,000, and for his girlfriend to be accepted into the law school, and for it to be paid for. That would make sense, $800,000 that the high school corner requested plus the $500,000 would add up to the 1.3 million dollar figure (not counting the girlfriend's tab, which would be hard to put an easy figure on).

You're right, that is why you proofread.

From the beginning it seemed like Cohen was a hard core Bammer. I remember him issues with depression which the school helped him get through or at least manage. Then he pulls this stunt, very interesting.

Seems to be Cohen's girlfriend had been in his ear about how he needs to maximize the opportunity and makes some demands... which included her getting something to because you know she loves him and all!
