Has Dallas Turner been slowed by his ankle surgery. Have not noticed the explosiveness he displayed last year.

I haven't noticed Dallas Turner favoring his ankle. Hard to say about the explosiveness, he looks pretty fast to me. Did anyone notice if Jamil Burroughs played any against Vandy? I would have thought he would be in the
Rotation a little more than he has this year. I guess Jaheim Oatis has been such a factor.

Injury updates on Earle, Young, and Battle:

quote:

Following the third practice of Arkansas week, Saban was asked about two players that left the Vanderbilt game with injuries in defensive lineman Byron Young and safety Jordan Battle.

“Both guys practiced some today,” Saban said after Wednesday’s practice. “Hopefully, they’ll both be ready for the game, but it’s day to day. When you have these kinds of injuries, it’s always (about) how they feel the next day, so we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.”

“He’s practiced this week,” Saban said of Earle. “But again, everything is day to day with these guys that are coming off injuries. It’s not always about just what they were able to do today, but how does it affect tomorrow. So we’ll see how he is on a day-to-day basis and have to make a decision about that tomorrow.”

I thought with Will commanding so much attention this year, that would really free up Dallas to have a monster year. H'es been sort of MIA thus far. Hope to see him ramp it up starting this week. I didn't realize he had ankle surgery. Is that confirmed?

I have seen people on several different message boards say he had a tightrope surgery for high ankle sprain. Might have just been an echo chamber sort of rumor, though. I haven't seen it mentioned in any news articles or other media, nothing credible.

Nick Saban Comments on Development of Jalen Milroe (SI)

Alabama hasn't been utilizing plays that feature the backup quarterback's skillset according to Saban.

Read that BOL article about Drew Sanders and they mentioned the both the fact that Sanders wanted to move to MLB at Arkansas and Saban's quotes about that being likely if he had stayed at Bama as well.

I'm wonder where the disconnect was that caused him to transfer? Because it definitely doesn't seem like it was positional.

I'd guess there might've been some hurt feelings losing his starting spot due to injury, but seems shortsided if the position switch was in mind already.

Though, rash decisions and college students are synonymous with each other

I love Moody but Sanders in that spot would have been almost unethical with the LB corps we have. Just have to assume he got his panties ruffled when Dallas took his job and he took his ball and went home. Ah well, he missed out on being part of an epic defense.
