Yep. Did people not watch the game last year? Ole Miss had almost double the amount of rushing attempts that they did passing attempts. I think it was 57-29.

Yes they did and the hurry up offense is more beneficial for the run game than it is for the passing game. The "big uglies" get tired faster.

Bama DBs should play zone coverage to take away deep passing threat.

What worries me, is the tight end/ slot sliding behind the linebackers and in front of the safeties for 10-12 yards a pop.

Very True, but sometimes you have to pick your poison or the least of the evils. As Bear use to say, three things can happen when you pass the ball and two of them are not good.

Safeties are actually in better position to make a play on TE and sneaky RB routes if they're a little deeper than the route runners. LBs & Nickel cover the shallow zones. If executed well, zone coverage is challenging for the receivers & QB.

We need the backers to get good depth over the middle to prevent that shite right there. But C. Harris, for a guy who played DB in HS, has had some terrible plays defending that area.

You can bet that if Mullen picked on him, Lane is going to pick on him too.

We need to control the clock and run the ball in combination using our TEs. The more our offense in on the field the less likely Ole Miss can score. If we control the clock it will force Kiffin and his QB to make mistakes trying to score fast.

GMac said he would run 2 man and 2 safety's and force Lane to run the ball, which he doesnt like to do. That does make it hard to defend the quarterback running the ball.

Makes it hard to defend running the ball period. If you play 11 vs 9, it’s going to be very difficult to stop any sort of power.

Ole Miss has one of the best rushing attacks in the country. Lane has no issue with running the ball. Also, if Bama comes out allowing 4-5 yards a play hoping for a turnover or penalty, we've already lost.

I said the same thing yesterday in this thread. The notion that Lane Kiffin does not like to run the ball is just not true. They're second in the league in rushing this year and they were number one in the league in rushing last year. They ran the ball down our throats last season.

Lane didnt say that.

He did say Will Anderson is the best player on our team and that he looks like Derrick Thomas.

Good for Lane for getting back into shape like that. I think he put ten to fifteen pounds a year while he was at Tuscaloosa. Didn’t really slow down afterwards for a minute either.
