A lot better being west of a hurricane's path than east. Hopefully, we are just talking about a tropical depression by kickoff.

Yep, and if that map proves to be fairly accurate, the TD's center will be near the eastern border of TN Saturday evening and there'll probably be clear and calm sunset skies in Oxford, MS.

question about defending Alabama. Obviously, the first two games the other teams have put 11 in the box and taken away the run. But, this has given us the deep ball, over and over and Jones is really good at throwing deep. And if they keep playing Ala with no safety, Jones will continue to bomb away. Ole Miss has been terrible against the run so far, so will they put a safety deep, and make us run the ball, and throw shorter passes? I think based on what I saw from Georgia, they will grab and hold our receivers. They were definitely holding the barn receivers, and the refs didnt call anything.

am i the only one thinking this new way of teaching tackling, grab and roll down like rugby, is at the very least partly responsible for our tackling woes. the christian harris stick early in the arky game is more of an outlier type tackle nowadays, imho.

If you go back and take a look at the 4th quarter you will see Bama go to a 2 WR set. We add another behemoth on the LOS and Billingsley (#19) playing in the H. Brian Robinson started seeing some decent running lanes immediately. If you do want to run, some of this stuff is how hard you want to work at it too.

Oxford, MS is close to Memphis. If it follows that projected path (map above), it'll be much weaker and located E-NE of Chattanooga by 5 pm CT on Sat. If that's the actual situation, then Oxford, MS probably won't be getting much, if any, weather impact from it during the game.

When do they make the call for these things? And does the fact that OM and Bama both have the same open date have an affect in that decision?

I don't like the idea of 8 straight against conf play...

One thing that I like about our run game is that while we aren’t busting off 20 yard runs, we also aren’t getting sacked for a loss on 3rd and short. When we need to get a couple, we can pretty much get it. We had a six yard touchdown run Saturday on 3rd down.

Two weeks ago we lined up from the five and mashed Missou three straight runs for the TD.

BTW. Does anyone remember last years online at this point?

The 3rd touchdown we scored is worth the re watch in reguard to our oline play.I was not totally sold on 55.But new conditioning and alongside neal with 86 was a thing of beauty.
He did a great job on brown of Texas A&M.
I expect to see a AU type game from Najee at Ole miss.

This hurricane keeps getting stronger. Hope Bama can play Ole Miss this weekend.

Maybe move the game to Friday night or Sunday? Move the game to a neutral site in Tennessee? I wouldn't guess it would matter if they changed the kickoff time to Saturday morning.

Yeah the predicted track and timing I saw last night didn't look promising for the game happening at its scheduled time.

Haven't checked any updates this morning.

ETA - Looks like the projected track has shifted west a little. Eye of it is projected to be past Oxford by Saturday night, but a lot of wind and rain is predicted throughout the day Saturday. Game seems iffy right now, IMHO.

Can we have the "Birds Nest" on speed dial this season? Might even be nice for folks in Atlanta to watch real football.

Moving it to the Liberty Bowl or anyone else’s stadium sounds like a logistical nightmare Covid wise. If they change locations it might have to be Ttown

That is true. Maybe move the game to T-Town and change the kickoff time to that morning.

Relocating the game seems to create issues, instead of solving any. Maybe just changing the game time or playing it Fri night will suffice.

I wonder what the deadline is for making that decision.

Moving it to Sunday would make more sense than Friday. Storm will have long passed through by Sunday afternoon.

I don't think they make any decision until Thursday though.
