perception among us fans is that Bryce was number 2 but I doubt NS or the OC had anything on a pecking order on paper showing this. Most fans have young pegged as number 1 ahead of Jones. And that just isnt the NS way.

As soon as Tua stepped on campus EVERYONE knew it was only a matter of time before he came in and took the job. Sure enough at the end of his true freshman year, he was the hero winning us a natty. And frankly, probably should have happened earlier in the year.
Young has that same flavor. Football IQ off the charts, athletic and elite arm talent. That kid isn’t waiting 2-3 years for a chance. He came here to be QB1 and that will either happen at some point this season, or at worst for next season. Lia knows, Galu knows, Saban knows...everyone knows this. Lia is a decent talent but he’s not in Young’s league right now. That’s no secret to anyone in the program.

SEC presidents are expected to vote on a potential return date for players on Friday. Dates of June 1st and 15th are rumored to be a part of the discussions.

Just split the difference and say June 8th?
Sounds to me like Bama players are getting ready to report next week based on some chatter I've seen.

ha, well the article above suggest otherwise.
It says and insinuates all I stated.
If there were no coronavirus and we had spring ball Taulia would have gotten the opportunity to challenge Mac.
He didn't get that. We all know who the starter for next season will be.
What sense does it make for Taulia to wait when Bryce Young will hop over him ?

If things aren't going the way you like then leaving after the freshmen season is the route to take. You're out one year at your new school and then 3 years in a row to play.

Saw that with the article it said all workouts can only be student initiated with no coaches present.
This had some more details to go along with it.
What is going to get interesting is how they deal with state orders in place. Every P5 conference I believe is setup so that votes usually have to be unanimous so no unfair advantage. So lets say NC does not allow this to happen yet until phase 3 it would prevent 4 ACC schools from doing it and the conference would not be allowed to in any state.
Still to many variables with all those making decisions but at least it appears to be heading in the right direction.

Conferences and schools can impose their own restrictions, and schools will have to abide by whatever restrictions are in place in their state. SEC schools were scheduled to vote on Friday on whether they would open up for athletic activities on June 1 or June 15.
Many schools have imposed some of their own restrictions, such as limiting the number of players in the weight room at one time and sanitation requirements, but a lot of schools in states where it is permitted are planning on beginning these voluntary workouts on June 1.

"the NCAA Division I Council voted to approve voluntary athletic activities in football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball beginning on June 1 and going through June 30."
"We need to learn to dance with the pandemic rather than being fearful of it," West Virginia president Gordon Gee said, according to CBS. "We have moved from 'The Hammer,' which I call where we just locked everything down, to what I call 'The Dance.'"

Where Are They Now: Lee Roy Jordan
My father (till the day he died) without question believed LRJ was the greatest LB to ever play at the Capstone.
Lol... We would have serious debates about this over the years. Even though he held DT, Biscuits, Woodrow Lowe, Barry Krauss, Paul Crane and John Mitchell in high regards.
None of them was in LRJ league. He use to say... If a charging bull could carry a football, LRJ would bring his arse down.

Yep. My dad was the same way

when it comes to defensive players at Bama. LRJ is the first one my dad brings up, every time.

Dude, LRJ was just a little before my time (about 10 years) but he's Bama's version of Dick Butkus. Coach Bryant would without a doubt call him the greatest LB he ever coached. Don't sell him short. There's been a lot of great LB's come through Tuscaloosa; some of the greatest that ever played the game, like Derrick Thomas. But make no mistake, LRJ could hold his own with ANY of them.
