Yea that's true, those 3 are game changers. Now if we keep golding, I'm going to go full blown nuclear melt down

Wouldnt that be a lateral move for Schumann? I thought he was a position coach already

We've got three key difference makers returning in Moses, Leatherwood and Smitty. Also, only losing 1 OL and 1 DL starter is big.

It's actually playing out about like I expected.

Not sure but I just got confirmation he’s coming back

He (Schumann) is a position coach at UGA (ILB coach and co-DC) and no doubt Dirty Kirby'll do backflips to keep him. But everybody is super high on him as a coach and UA is his alma mater so that's my reasoning.

But replacing PG with Ansley is key. Replacing Baker with Lupoi (or Davis) would be nice as well.

It'd be a downgrade if he lost his Co-DC title.

Sure, but why would he have to lose it?

But I agree he's a reach. But this was/is my wishlist.

If he does come back, I hope a signed napkin with an agent doesn't show up later.

Because your initial post had no mention of Co-DCs

Seriously though, don't think Ansley comes to Bama to "share" the title. Already takes a lot to get credit running a defense under Saban, halving it makes it harder.

And Kelly is already an associate defensive coordinator in title...

You mean Schumann, not Ansley, right (cause Ansley would be the real DC), but fair point. So, give Kelly the 'associate head coach' title that Baker currently has and make Schumann co-DC. Problem solved, lol.

I know it's a forgone conclusion that najee is going pro but I have to wonder if Tua's decision might actually work in our favor for him returning. I'm probably just setting myself up for another let down with that one though lol

I meant Ansley, I don't think he leaves UT to gain a Co-DC(even if only in title) under Saban.

I'd give Ansley what he wants and go from there.

I hope some sleazeball agent didn’t trick him into signing something. That would be a big worry of mine

The upside to Ansley is that he isn't Pete Golding and UTk actually looked better on defense as the season progressed despite having a lot of young guys out there. The downside is that given his career arc thus far, if he does well he's here for 2 years max before someone hires him as a HC.
