Rumor around t-town right now is tua is leaving my brother goes to Alabama I talked to him today and he is saying a lot of people are saying he is gone.

As an alumnus, students couldn't be more isolated from student-athletes. They're the least likely to know. They'll find out with the rest of us.

My final post on the Tua thing:
Tua went to NY and sat with a specialist who rates hips from A-D, apparently Tua got a C-/D+. This person was connected to the NYG.
Galu had also made some demands about Lia playing and after Alabama was going to pay or already had paid the premium for insurance and found a job for him it seems he has taken advantage of it some. Also a GM said Tua could be top 15 when a bunch of them said he couldn’t.
From the UA side they feel like they have done everything they can. They didn’t like having demands thrown at them etc.
So bottom line Tua wants to come back and Galu has thrown a wrench.
That’s from my coaching source and he says dad usually gets what he wants.
That’s all I have.

Yeah this is really disappointing like really disappointing. Tua wants to stay and has this entire time. It’s always the damn family man every time.

It was but, he got sucked into the NFL GM what we can do for you thing. That what it sounds like. From my understanding Tua has not even blinked about staying. But yeah I’d imagine what you said is true unless Tua takes a stand.

I mean it is what it is. If his hip is that bad it's probably not the worst thing in the world to go ahead and get a solid bonus and pay and have a year with a team knowing the situation to work on getting it better.
I'm terrified of his coming back, getting popped and losing everything. It would literally be the worst thing in my history of Alabama football, personally speaking. I just can't even fathom it.

It's much easier to type "I think I was wrong" instead of spinning this.
You said a few days ago he told the coaches his intentions to come back and now his dad talked to people in New York and everything changed.

It's not wrong - I read the same report somewhere else from someone who absolutely knows the truth and never posts stuff.
Not the Lia/demands stuff, but the doctor visit and family response stuff.

Some guy on the rant says Smith doesn’t at all come from a well off family and could use the money.
