I mentioned when he he and Delong were "trying out" at halftime, his best 2 punts were in the actual game. I didn't see pregame.

LINK ]Saban: Tua Tagovailoa's rehab going 'even better than expected' (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Alabama head coach Nick Saban provided yet another positive update on Tua Tagovailoa. The Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback will miss today’s game with Arkansas after undergoing surgery on his ankle, but Tagovailoa’s journey back to the field has been a smooth one.

“He’s absolutely doing even better than expected,” Saban told ESPN’s Tom Luginbill during an interview that aired on SEC Nation. “Didn’t have a lot of swelling this time around, so that sort of extenuates the ability to rehab. And he’s doing well.”

On Sunday, Tagovailoa underwent a procedure to repair a high ankle sprain on his right ankle he injured in the Tennessee game. The Crimson Tide quarterback left Saturday’s game in the second quarter and did not return to the sideline after receiving medical attention.

Prior to his surgery, Tagovailoa said he would be back in time to play No. 2 LSU on Nov. 9. While he hasn’t given a timetable for Tagovailoa’s return, Saban has remained optimistic.

“These things are hard to predict, but we want him to be three or four days non-weight bearing, and then he can sort of go as tolerated relative to his rehab,” Saban said on Golic and Wingo on Thursday. “He was back on the field in 12 days before the last one. This one doesn’t seem to be quite as serious as the last one, and it’s not his plant foot to throw. So hopefully, in a couple of weeks, we’ll be able to have him back on the field. Now, how capable he’ll be and how close to 100 percent he can get just kind of remains to be seen.”

Tagovailoa has thrown for 2,166 yards, 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions on 145-of-194 passing (74.7 percent). The junior quarterback is among the top contenders for this season’s Heisman Trophy after finishing as the runner-up a year ago while also dealing with a high ankle sprain that he suffered in the SEC Championship Game. That injury was to his left ankle.

In the Tennessee game, Tagovailoa was replaced behind center by Mac Jones, who finished the rivalry game 6-of-11 for 72 yards. Jones will start this weekend’s matchup with Arkansas. The backup quarterback all year long, Saturday will be the first start of Jones’ career.

“I think the preparation has been good this week,” Saban said. “And I think the message to the rest of the players on the team is everybody’s got to play well. You’ve got to play well around the quarterback if he’s going to be able to play well. And I think Mac’s very capable, and we’ve got a lot of confidence in him.”

No. 1 Alabama will play host to Arkansas at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.

LINK ]Saban provides postgame injury updates, latest on Tua Tagovailoa (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Nick Saban provided updates on a number of injured players following Alabama’s 48-7 win over Arkansas. But all of the injury updates seemed to be positive.

The head coach gave the latest on running back Najee Harris, wide receiver DeVonta Smith, defensive back Shyheim Carter and linebacker Ale Kaho in his opening statement.

Najee just barely twisted his ankle. He’s fine, could’ve went back and played in the game,” Saban said. “We just didn’t put him back in the game. Smitty has a bruised shoulder. He’ll probably be out for a few days but should be fine. Shyheim Carter went out with a little knee sprain. He’ll be fine. I don’t think we have anybody that’s significantly enough hurt. Kaho has a fractured hand, which will be fixed and he’ll be able to play in a cast.”

Smith left the game in the second quarter and walked to the locker room. He emerged in the second half out of his uniform and with his injured arm in a sling. Harris limped to the sideline and had a brief visit in the medical tent before watching the rest of the Week 9 game.

Saban also said left guard Evan Neal has “a little bit of a groin strain” and probably could have kept playing but the coaching staff elected to take him out. The same goes for center Landon Dickerson, who exited the 41-point win during the second half and did not return. Right tackle Jedrick Wills spoke to reporters after the game with his left foot in a walking boot. “I’m just taking the pressure off,” Wills said.

One player that didn’t suffer an injury during the game but was held out of it for precautionary reasons was safety Jared Mayden, who dressed out but watched the contest from afar.

“We could’ve played him in an emergency,” Saban said. “He has a pulled groin, as well -- not bad. He was able to practice some this week. We felt comfortable playing with the guys that we were going to play and not make it worse. So, we’re hopeful in a couple days that he’ll be just fine.”

Finally, Saban shared the latest on quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who missed Saturday’s game with a high ankle sprain. The starter underwent a tight-rope procedure on his right ankle this past Sunday and is “absolutely doing even better than expected” during his rehab.

“Tua is doing really, really well,” Saban said. “He’s on the AlterG (treadmill) already, running on the AlterG. We expect to return to practice by midweek this week. I don’t know what he’ll be able to do or how much, but that’s sort of the prognosis for where we are right now.”

Alabama won’t play in a game next weekend as it enters its second of two bye weeks. The No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide will play host to No. 2 LSU on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Nope. I posted the video of his warm ups. He was hitting every kick about 45 yards.

I have said this many times about posters on SECrant.... most I believe are teenage nerds . There are some level headed LSU fans that you can have a discussion with over there but most just post the most idiotic crap/ trolls I have ever seen. They have a great team this year, no doubt . Can they win the game ? Sure they can . They( fans) don’t lack confidence that’s for sure

LINK ]Saban not making predictions on Tua's status for LSU (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be back at practice Wednesday. So, what will be the Crimson Tide’s approach with its starting signal-caller when he does return?

“We’ll just have to see what he can do and evaluate his mobility and his performance,” head coach Nick Saban said at The Harbert Center before addressing the Monday Morning Quarterback Club. “I can’t really predict any of those things. Just got to let it happen and see how it goes.

"I think Wednesday will probably be the first day he’s back out on the field. He’s been on the AlterG and progressing well on that, which is usually the protocol for how we bring players back that have lower extremity-type injuries.”

Last Sunday, Tagovailoa underwent a procedure to repair a high ankle sprain on the right ankle he injured in the Tennessee game. He did not play in Alabama’s 48-7 win over Arkansas this past weekend but was on the sideline, cheering on his teammates in a walking boot. Before the last game, Saban said Tagovailoa is “doing even better than expected” in his rehab. Prior to his surgery, Tagovailoa said he would be back in time to play No. 1 LSU on Nov. 9.

Is it fair to say Saban is optimistic Tagovailoa will be available to play against the Tigers? That was the second question about the quarterback posed to the Crimson Tide head coach.

“We’re not making any predictions, so is it fair to question that?” Saban said. “We can’t know. I can’t know. I’ve got no crystal ball. I don’t know how he’s going to do in Wednesday’s practice. I don’t know how he’ll he do after that. So, is it fair to say I don’t know? I don’t know. Nobody knows.”

Tagovailoa has thrown for 2,166 yards, 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions on 145-of-194 passing (74.7 percent). The junior quarterback is among the top contenders for this year’s Heisman Trophy after finishing as the runner-up in 2018 while also dealing with a high ankle sprain that he suffered in the SEC Championship Game. That injury was to his left ankle.

All eyes will be on Tagovailoa and whether he can return to 100-percent health, or close to it, in the next two weeks as No. 2 Alabama gets set to host No. 2 LSU on Saturday, Nov. 9. But does Saban have an ideal percentage Tagovailoa needs to be at in order for him to play?

“No, if he can perform to the best of his ability,” Saban said. “We’re not going to put him in a situation where he can’t perform, aight. If he can perform, he’ll be able to play. If he can’t perform then he won’t play. … I don’t really have a date. I have a date that I need to know can the guy play well enough, to perform well enough to help the team have the chance to be successful. Whenever that day comes, that’s when we’ll let you know.”

I honestly don’t know if I wanted to win last year as much as I do this year.

I would love for it to be neck and neck and us get a questionable interception that swings the momentum in our favor and we just pull away.

Better yet be up by 1 with LSU driving down to our 30 just needing a FG to win. the clock with 15 seconds left on it and they get called for holding. Next play called for holding again and time expires.
