Well nobody is going to be real happy about a forfeit being awarded because of a pandemic that is in many ways out of their control. Yeah, if they went to a frat party and caught the Wu Flu, tough shite. But if the trainer was positive and was asymptomatic and gave it to 10 team members accidentally before they caught it, that's nobody's fault. I can't fault anyone that doesn't want to accept those conditions.

I imagine every SEC team will lose 1-2 games because of COVID cancellations. The SEC should eliminate divisions and take the highest two teams in the CFP rankings to the SECCG.

That's possible but unlikely, imo.

That could reduce the chances of getting two SEC teams in the CFP.

Missouri has brought more to the SEC East than Tennessee has in awhile, to be fair to them.

Yep. Gary Pinkel proved that with a good HC Mizzou can have a good competitive football program.

Ronald Williams out with hurt arm for several weeks.

Armor-Davis is needed and so glad he came back.

Anderson is the real deal! He'll start every game and lead team in sacks!

Was he considering opting out/transferring?

i was hoping he would shine bright this year. however, a 5th yr senior losing his opportunity to a true freshman, aint pretty. i remember saban saying a couple years ago that ben d was battling shin splints. those things can devastate an athlete.

There was a rumor that he was earlier in camp.

Thanks Boz.... hopefully Davis can still get meaningful reps .... hard not to pull for the kid . His one sack against MSU last year , he did show a burst I am pulling for him. He has done everything the right way with class

If we rotate with depth like usual I think he will play. We need to keep everyone as fresh as we can. When we play our favorite hurry up teams that will be important.

Of course. We bring him in to play early and he gets injured. Our luck!

SEC sets roster thresholds for playing games (ESPN)
quote:

The SEC released its football game cancellation and postponement policies on Friday, setting a minimum threshold of 53 available scholarship athletes to compete.

Included in the policy is a minimum number of scholarship players at specific positions, including seven offensive linemen (with one center), one quarterback and four defensive linemen.

However, schools can continue to compete with fewer players available if they choose to do so. "Otherwise, upon approval by the Commissioner, the game would be rescheduled or declared a no contest," according to the news release.

If there are other "compelling reasons" (outside of the scholarship and position minimums) a school cannot compete, it will be able to request a postponement or cancellation. The final decision for such requests will be determined by commissioner Greg Sankey.

The SEC, which opted to play a 10-game, conference-only schedule during the coronavirus pandemic, will begin its season on Sept. 26.
