Texas was able to slow down OU's O much of the game. I'm pretty sure our D is much better than the Texas D overall.

I think we can hold them to somewhere in the 30s if we play decent as long as our O controls the ball enough. If we bring our A game, I think can hold them under 30 is doable.

The key here is shutting down the big plays.

Thoughts?

Maybe - we also have to realize Orlando has been at Texas for 2 years now and Texas and OU are really familiar with eachother. This was their 2nd meeting this season and it was only a 1 week period between last game and CG.

Lincoln Riley is an incredible offensive mind. They'll do a ton of scheming and prep work over a month and show stuff we haven't seen before. Remember how they came out of the gates flying against Georgia last year?

I think we see a lot of the mush rush to keep Murray in the pocket as much as possible. Hopefully Q and company can have a game like they did V LSU and get pressure up the middle all game long.

If they score more than 17, I’ll be disappointed and it means our defense will have played poorly.

This ain’t the Big 12, and we’re not Baylor. Or Texas.

And they shouldn’t be here, anyway. But, politics.

If this game isn’t 52-17-type-of-game with us running clock with backups at the start of the 4th quarter, then something went wrong.

So you think our defense is going to play poorly? Why?

I think they can stop a high school/Big 12 team.

I really hope Tua is healthy in time but I think Jalen could have just as much success.

That Sooner passing D is tied for last in the nation. Jalen can take advantage of that along with his running ability.

I don't think giving up 24 or 31 points to Oklahoma would mean they played poorly.

Well, by Big 12 standards I suppose you could be right.

I happen to think we have a SEC-caliber defense that is consistently one of the best in the nation- at least a smidgeon better than the Big12.

But, again, you could be right, though.

I think our offense is one of the best in the nation, too. And I think they’re Big12 defense is one of the worst in all phases of the game, and that our offense will control the game and keep they Onoff the field and that our SEC D will stop them more than not stopping them.

Georgia just scored 28 on our defense, and OU's offense is a lot better than UGA's

Look I get uga scored some point on us but is it really fair to take much from that and compare it to OU? Maybe the wr talent but otherwise they are completely different offenses.

Oklahoma has a great QB, very skilled WR, good RB, and an OUTSTANDING offensive line. They are a great offensive team, regardless of conference or defenses they've faced.

:lol

Why? Because they scored a bunch of points on Kansas and Baylor? :lol

Yeah, no.

There sure are a lot of Oklahoma/Big12 fans on our board Downvoting accurate posts. Losers.

OU has an elite offense. Talk all the smack you want but Bama will earn the next two games.

i'm not so confident in our defense against this oklahoma offense. we just watched fromm work this defense over pretty good. bamas d is set up to face a fromm type offense. murray and that offense is an entirely different animal. bamas d is not built for those type offenses. as much as we talk about rpo's in the sec now, this will be way more than bama is used to.

If we hold Oklahoma to 17, then Tosh & Golding need to make Aranda type money.

OU is the top offense in the country with arguably the best QB in the country outside of Tuscaloosa. They have a great OL. They’re going to score some points.

I don't think that's really accurate. Three or four years ago? Yes. I don't really think it's true now.

Yeah, you’ll have to forgive me for not fellating them for scoring a bunch of points on Iowa State like the rest of you seem weirdly intent on doing.

Downvote away. Go cheer for OU. Whatever.

We’re not Iowa State. Or Texas Tech. Or Baylor. Or Texas.

And by the way.... that whole “Alabama’s defense isn’t built to stop RPO teams," is so 2010. 3 or 4 losses in as many years says that argument is something people say for no other reason than that they heard somebody on tv say it, one time.

A garbage team that puts up a whole bunch of garbage points on other garbage teams in a garbage/defense optional high school conference isn’t putting up a whole bunch of points on Alabama.

Felate away. It’s just not happening.

You should start preparing for that disappointment now.
