Read a few posts up on this page. Byrne basically debunked that.

Hopefully we’ll be able to attend and provide a semblance of home court advantage. We’ll need it.

Yep. Both schools could potentially be in the top 25 when they play

One incident been overlooked in the Gregg Marshall story, per multiple sources:

Marshall taunted junior forward Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler, who is of Native American descent, “to get back on his horse” and made “Indian howling noises” while in practice during the 2018-19 season.

Can't believe how fortunate we are that we missed on Marshall and hired Avery.

It’s not just that Marshall comes off like an a-hole, he seems fricking insane.

I’m sure the “he’s just old school, everyone nowadays is soft” take is out there, but I....would not find that entirely convincing.

Nah, that excuse won't work for what has been reported. If you are physically punching players in the face, make racist remarks, following, stalking, harassing and/or assaulting people for parking in "his" parking spot while asking them "do you know who the frick I am" along with all of the other bullshite actions he's taken over the years - you aren't "old school", you are an a-hole bully with a god complex.

If all that stuff is true, then frick Gregg Marshall. I hope he gets fired with cause, gets no buyout money for it and doesn't get another job because none of his past, present or future players deserve to be treated that way.

Wichita State University statement

Wichita State University acknowledges the allegations within its Men’s Basketball program brought forth by media.

The university is in the process of an independent investigation conducted by Tueth Keeney, a St. Louis-based law firm. Tueth Keeney has an established reputation of working with numerous public and private colleges, universities, community colleges, and other educational institutions on a wide range of issues, including conducting investigations of personnel and student-related matters, and other compliance issues.

The investigation is being completed in an expeditious and deliberate manner. We have received full cooperation from university staff, coaches, and current student-athletes, and Coach Gregg Marshall and support any individual who chooses to participate in order to conduct a fair, impartial and thorough investigation.

In the interim, activities of the team will continue as scheduled, and, as it does regularly, the university has reminded all staff, coaches and student-athletes of relevant policies and channels for reporting concerns.

Per John Rothstein, the Alabama vs Houston series to start the season is still on.

Many of them won’t take advantage of it, but it makes complete sense.

Division 1 Council also expected to talk about introducing legislation that would add two positions to the MBB and WBB men’s basketball committee, per source. Would guarantee each Power 5 conference have representation.

Most mid-majors opposed to this, per source.

I don't think i've seen anything official on that, but I have seen some speculation that if fans are allowed it would likely only be North Carolina residents.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for more info though.

Dick Vitale's college basketball preseason top 40 for 2020-21

Dick Vitale has us at #17 (3rd best in SEC) in his top 40.

quote:

Nate Oats has a loaded roster and could use 12 players. Veterans John Petty and Herb Jones are back, but there is potential for more balanced scoring this season. Canadians Keon Ambrose-Hylton and Josh Primo, along with Alex Tchikou of France, are three of the six newcomers to keep an eye on. This Tide team will make noise in the SEC, and I have them higher than some prognosticators.
