I feel like Vermont is a team every year that has 5 seniors. Hopefully we aren’t starting the season against them. I like the addition to the schedule though.

Absofvckinlutely

For the love of gawd open the season with Lamar and Tennessee Tech please. Then we can go to Maui and then come back and play the good mid majors with 7 23 year olds on them.

The NCAA buried the lede here. Recruiting dead period expected to be extended through June 30.

That means eight evaluation days in the month of June are gone. Next evaluation period after June 30 begins July 9.

No surprise here: June recruiting involving high schools won't happen.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for July (Peach Jam), either.

Very good news. Both for us and him. I believe he’s worthy of a top 40 pick, but the general consensus doesn’t agree with me. I haven’t seen him in many 2nd round mocks. Based on this, I’m pretty confident that he’s back.

Quinerly
Shack
Petty
Herb
Bruner

If Quinerly lives up to the hype, that could be the best starting lineup we’ve had in my book. Taking into account we have a 5-star as our 6th man (or a player that played like a 5-star as a freshman in Jaden), and 2 top JUCOs (Rojas and Ellis) to finish out the core rotation, we’re going to be pretty stacked. I feel like Oats has obviously done awesome recruiting this year, but even a better job at roster construction. Those 8 guys plus Reese and Davis give us 10 reliable (at the very least) rotation players, and we have young reserves who won’t have to be rushed into heavy PT like KAH and Miles. The one unknown for me is where Gary falls in this group. I’d imagine if we sign Sibande and lose Davis/Reese, he’d be in the rotation, but with him being injured so early last year we haven’t had much to go on for him.

I think Gary will play a lot. Especially when we go with smaller lineups.

Didn't Harper say that Gary was the most explosive or athletic guy on the team before he was injured?

Oats has had good things to say about him in the past and he has pretty good size at 6'5" 220 I'm hopeful that he will fit the system well and be a solid contributor within the rotation.

Yep. Between that and some other scouting reports I've seen, plus just watching some footage of him from high school, it's pretty easy to envision him as eventually becoming Tony Mitchell minus the shitty attitude.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if he turns into Tony Mitchell. Not saying that as a negative on Gary, more so just emphasizing how good Mitchell was. Only thing that held him back was his attitude and even so he was pretty great with it.

Stanford might be the strongest team in the Maul Invitational.

Anybody know if the Rocket City Classic (Huntsville) is happening again this year? I assumed it would continue to be an ongoing thing, but I haven't seen anything about it. I feel like it's usually mentioned, even if the details aren't nailed down.
