Yeah, I think he was the safe backup option for many schools last year. Most schools got the 1st target or close to it. You look at his background and he was built to coach in the Southeast.

Feels like a similar trajectory as Chris Beard to me. It is really going to be interesting to see how hard Tech can fight to keep Beard. I think he will be at a Blue blood or Texas in 5 years or so. I beleive something similar is going to happen with Forbes after he starts building WF.

It’s now “highly unlikely” that the one-time transfer waiver will go into effect immediately after the Board of Directors recommended that changes are not appropriate at this time, sources told @Stadium. Vote still scheduled (for now) on May 20.

If Petty stays I believe we'll have the biggest improvement in wins in the conference & that might happen even without him.We may lead the country in scoring with the most professional talent we've ever had at one time.Get used to it because Oats & his staff are recruiting machines like Saban.

Strong hire.Forbes is a hoss.

Wouldn't have thought Wake would be the school to put the work into finding someone like Forbes.

I think the State is about to start doing voluntary surgeries again, so I imagine Reese will get his hip worked on pretty soon. JQ May have to wait until he gets on campus(which sounds like its gonna be the end of June) before he has his

I think Forbes has a really good reputation as a coach in the southeastern region of the country.

And the schools are less than three hours apart, so that helps.

Yeah, that's fair. And I think you could sort of feel an increase in awareness of Forbes this past year too. So, "putting in work" might've been the wrong way of putting it - more like Wake seems like a school that I would've expected to make a really bad hire .

Forbes is from the Midwest so he knows to coach.

Phil, regarding Galin's destination...it probably won't be Troy. They also play very fast. Not Galin's forte.

the athletic director for Wake Forest is a really smart guy. They gave an unprecedented amount of money for Wake Forest standards to their football coach on a long-term contract. Now with their new hire of Forbes they have an outstanding basketball and football coach.

Oats said he would need a minor procedure, but i'm not sure it was ever made public what it was for. If it was, I don't remember it at least.

Louisville has received a Notice if Allegations. This is related to the Adidas scandal that happened a little less than three years ago.

quote:

Sources: Louisville Notice of Allegations contains one Level One allegation against the university, which is the most serious in nature. Rick Pitino, recently hired at Iona, faces a Level Two allegation. Notice should be released shortly.

quote:

Specifics: Level One allegation of impermissible benefits from two former coaches, plus people tied to Adidas; Level Two allegations against same two former coaches for impermissible transportation and contact; Level Two allegation that institution failed to monitor recruitment

quote:

And a Level Two against Pitino for failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance.

quote:

This Louisville NOA has implications not just for the Cards, but also for new Iona HC Rick Pitino. Wording will be interesting.

I’d expect Louisville to throw Pitino under the bus and try to save face.

If the NCAA makes those stick, that’s a pretty heavy book they are throwing at the’Ville. That’s gonna leave a mark.
