After Rose's bomb, Williamson hits Jarvis around to third. 1st & 3rd, 1 out, 3-0.
Pinck up.
Pinck up.

sure the NCAA is just dying to give us a regional with the way our fans show up for games. Maybe it will fill in later in this game and for the nightcap. This team deserves it.
Yep. Bama has usually had a decent following in baseball over the years .Not as good as LSU/Arky etc but not bad either . Frustrating to see that . You know these players who are paying MORE than their fair share to play for UA have got to be disappointed
Fussing at myself as well. I have been to 3 games this year but these crowds are sad whether with or w/o students on campus

Shelton with bomb #20 (not in this game, that would be a record) puts Bama up 6-0.

I know the weather has been crappy and this is an early start. Hopefully for game two the crowd will be better. If the community were ever going to show up you'd think they would for this series with what is potentially on the line.

One man on but no damage against G-Mac.
6-0, headed to B3.

Would be great to run rule them to start the doubleheader.

It's kind of a weird thing I've noticed with us as well as Auburn. We both have played in other cities in the state in both Basketball and Baseball and seem to sell out those venues.
I'm not going to excuse our fans because let's face it Tuscaloosa/BHM is large enough to provide a meager couple thousand to show up, but with school ending this week/next week and people still working at 2 and the ones with school children that are out now going on vacation I'm not too shocked at the low turnout

It'd be nice to run rule them in this game to save any potential arms for tonight.

Eblin starts the third with a base hit into RF.
That'll do it for the OM starter.

I don't think that's a thing yet. I think schools in Alabama go through next week.
It's been a problem for years now. Back in the Wells era we drew pretty good crowds for SEC series. People have a lot of options now. I've been to five games this year but always get tickets so I don't know how much they are. Maybe that's a problem? Maybe there's a promotional issue. These smaller sport coaches really have to get out and promote their programs and the athletic department as well. I don't think this regime has done much of that.

Rose gets on as well and we have two on for Jarvis. Nobody out.

You build it and they will come. If Alabama baseball can be consistently good again, the attendance will be there. The program was once top 5 nationally in attendance when Jim Wells was at his height.

The Mike Bianco rollercoaster of the past two years is wild. They were average to below most of last year, got hot, got in the tourney and won the damn thing. And a lot of Rebel fans wanted him gone last year.
Now this year they are as hapless an SEC team as I've seen in a while. Probably since some of our early Bohannon teams honestly. They don't even hardly appear to be trying at times.

Bases loaded for Williamson.
Drew walks. 7-0 Bama.
Another OM pitching change.
Pinck with a chance for the kill shot here. If the pitcher will throw one over the plate.

Pinck manages a sac fly on a very shallow fly ball. Center fielder had to slide to get it, allowing Rose to scamper home. 8-0.
Shelton beats the shift with an IF grounder single to load them.
Tamez grounds out 6-4.
Headed to T4. 8-0 Bama.
I'm about to be out of pocket for about an hour or so. Roll Tide.
