I was looking at the SEC schedule. I know it’s always rough. But ending with LSU, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss is brutal. At least Missouri and Kentucky rotated on.

Sunday time change:

Alabama-Richmond Baseball Game on Sunday Moved to 12 p.m. CT First Pitch

The Alabama-Richmond baseball game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 19, has been moved up to a 12 p.m. CT first pitch at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The change was made to accommodate the Spiders' travel.

The teams were originally scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at The Joe on getaway day. Games one and two of the series on Friday and Saturday will remain at 3 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

Wonder if he is injured or just want to conserve some innings early in the season?

GMac suffered a minor injury during his outing a week or so ago. Nothing major. He will be back throwing in a couple of weeks.

Alabama Baseball 2023 Season Preview (SI)

Coming off of a season that saw the Crimson Tide finish with a 31-27 record and miss out on an NCAA Regional, Alabama looks to improve with one of the most experienced rosters in the SEC.

I find it interesting that Antoine Jean is no longer a weekend starter. He came in strong his freshman season.

Antoine Jean

He missed some last year too with an undisclosed injury. In looking at innings pitched, he was on par (33.2) with Hess, Guffey and Furtado last season.

Yeah that COVID year where we were dominant with the 2 freshmen pitchers before it went away I could tell Antoine was good but not great and was hoping he would get better as he got more experience. Maybe he will have a breakout season this year. We need good mid-week starters, especially this season

Seriously, we should have quality depth. We’re returning the entire infield except for 3rd base (replaced with a touted portal transfer). We’re returning the entire outfield. Multiple options at almost every position. Pitching is sounding promising (fingers crossed). Hoping/praying hitting doesn’t a dreaded SEC slump. The schedule is brutal as always. Need to win the non conference games and half the SEC games for post season play. Going into the season posi-Bama until things prove otherwise.

From the Joey Blackwell article… didn’t really Antoine had TJ surgery
quote:

Pitching

With RHP Garrett McMillan out for the foreseeable future with a rotator cuff injury and LHP Antoine Jean likely out for the season after having Tommy John surgery, the Alabama rotation and bullpen are without two key pieces to start the season.

Alabama_Fan, did you post the SEC TV schedule yet? If not, it'd be a good edition to the OP.

Our OOC schedule should be easy enough, can't wait for Gator series, should be a fun one

I did on the previous page but it will be easier to find up front. It’s now on the 2nd post (with the SEC schedule) - let me know if you think that works.

The games not on ‘linear TV’ (what they are branding TV channels) are supposed to be streamed on SEC+. Heard that the dates with basketball games will have single cameras for baseball (I think there are only 2 of those).
