Not the start we wanted to in conference play but still excited to see the team in my town tonight and I can finally cheer them on in person.
For anyone going to the area for the first time, SaZa has some really good pizza by the slice and a happy hour, Champy's has really good fried chicken, and Moe's is a cool place to chill and have wings/drinks.

Going 1-2 in weekend series is a tale dating back to the end of the wells era. Plug needs to be pulled on Bo at the end of this season if things remain the same

Great night in Trash Panda stadium. Couldn’t have asked for a better crowd. Oh to have those crowds at The Joe. Happy to see the guys bounce back from being 4 down and put it away. Happy to see Pinckney knock it out at the deepest part of the field. Looks like he’s starting to get his groove back. Solid night from the bullpen. All in all a positive experience in the Rocket City. On to Arky - Roll Tide!

e. I was always worried that if Bo left the recruiting would take a huge hit, but he isn't doing anything with the good recruiting he has so what's the difference?
Our recruiting is not that good. We get a few players but nowhere near the dogs that upper tier SEC teams get.
Right now is the equivalent of back during the Shula years when a television graphic pointed out that LSU had 24 four-star players and Alabama had four. The talent disparity is that big.
Look at Riley Quick, for instance. He’s big and can hit 97 but mostly sits 94ish. He is not a starter because he is not a polished pitcher. The better schools have freshmen who are able to come in and throw mid to upper 90s with command and have two additional quality pitches. The better schools have a strong defensive catcher who can turn around your best pitcher’s stuff even if he’s pitching well. They have a short stop who can hit 5 or 6 home runs. Their second baseman could be playing short for us, and has a batting average over 400. Quality teams have solid bullpens with shutdown closers.
We only have players who can consistently beat mid-level pitching. That may be better than in some years past, but we are in the baseball version of the Mike Shula years. We got a nice guy who comes close but who can’t win.

Pair of Big Innings Help Baseball Down Middle Tennessee, 10-4, Tuesday in Huntsville
Alabama baseball used a pair of big innings to secure a 10-4 win over Middle Tennessee on Tuesday evening at Toyota Field. The neutral site win moved the Crimson Tide to 20-6 on the season.
Both teams went scoreless through the first three frames before matching with four runs apiece in the fourth. Alabama then added one in the sixth on an Andrew Pinckney home run, with the go-ahead homer proving to be all the Tide would need. The eighth then saw UA add another five runs for the 10-4 final.
Alabama's offense was led by the 6-7-8 hitters in Ed Johnson, Pinckney and Tommy Seidl. Johnson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored with Pinckney posting a 3-for-4 showing that included the homer, one RBI and a team-high three runs. Seidl matched Pinckney for the team lead in hits with his 3-for-4 showing that included a double, two RBI and one run scored.
Zane Probst (2-0) picked up the win with 2.0 scoreless innings of relief, walking one and striking out a pair. Probst followed Tide starter Jacob McNairy, who contributed 4.0 innings and allowed four runs on six hits with a season-high six strikeouts.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"The atmosphere here tonight was awesome, it was electric. The place was packed, and the Trash Pandas put on an absolute first-class event. This was an awesome experience for our kids, and we cannot get back soon enough. I want to thank everyone involved with getting us up here and the Bama fans for showing out and supporting us tonight."

According to PG we've never been better than 10th, and a couple of years since 2018 we have been 23rd and 44th. Meanwhile, other SEC Teams have been in the top 5 year after year.
To put things in a perspective that we can all understand, would we expect to really compete for championships if our football team were no better than 10th and as low as 44th over the past 5 or so years?

You make it seem a lot worse than it is. 18 and 20 seem more like outliers than the norm. With that level of talent we should absolutely be making Supers. A 10th ranked class with proper coaching and development can absolutely compete for championships.

Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Bo. I am coming to the conclusion that as nice of a guy as he may be, he is just not the man to get things done like we want.
Yes, a regional each year might be a reasonable expectation, with some super regionals in there. We have to remember though that most years 4 or so SEC teams are above us in the rankings. Which means we get our tails kicked by them each year in conference play. At least this year we are taking care of business out of conference, which, hopefully, will translate into a regional bid.
Unfortunately, we seem to be perpetually understaffed for quality arms in the bullpen and that hurts us against quality teams as well as in tournament formats.
On a side note: did the conference decide to reign in the lunatic up at Tennessee? I can't see how they would allow his antics to continue.
