Wouldn’t mind the bunt as much here with Drew being a major K risk. Don’t know how much swing and miss stuff this reliever has but doesn’t have great K numbers.

How did Nicholls lose a game? They run out a guy who went 10-1, follow him with a guy who is practically unhittable and now they trot out a dude who is 5-1.

That’s a dumb statement. They may not make sense over a long haul but there is a place for them situationally.

Like trying to get a guy to third so you have more chances to score off a guy with good stuff who is hard to string together hits against.

Or you could let a guy swing away, maybe he’ll get a hit or a walk. Or maybe he’ll hit a roller to the right side and get the guy to third anyways, like that time. A bunt to third only gives one batter the additional sac fly opportunity. The percentages and data show bunting a guy from 2nd to 3rd with no outs is a waste of time.
