Yeah pretty common to run OOC in baseball and then suck.

I felt cheated last year having a great start before COVID.
Now this year with tons of potential and missing our Friday and Sunday starters... cheated again.
We may never know how good this team really is/was.

Prielipp pitched 5 innings on the first day and hasn’t pitched since. Jean is still out (missing his second SEC series). After Shamblin’s rocky start today, the trainer came out with Jackson and ultimately walked him off the mound early in the game (3rd inning?). Never saw Guffey leave the dugout this weekend so one can surmise that he is not healthy. Chase missed last weekend although he bounced back this weekend. Just seems like an awful lot of issues for key guys that don’t appear to have been overworked on game day.

Guffey pitched some in game 2 and was awful. I don’t think he’s 100% either.

I don’t see how we’re going to get through two midweek games this week.

We've fallen off a cliff.

You are correct - I went over to gymnastics after the 3rd inning and came back afterwards during the 7th inning stretch - didn’t realize we went through so many pitchers Saturday night (Smith, McNairy, Guffey, Freeman, Lee, Hitt, Giles). Completely missed McNairy and Guffey throwing Saturday night.

bama has plenty of arms. some with talent. bama hasn’t shown many pitchers.
a pitcher has a certain mindset: this is MY mound! you’re at MY plate! you’ll have to hit MY BEST pitch to advance! there will be no free passes! at the moment, i HATE you! you are trying to take something away from me, and i’m going to battle you on EVERY SINGLE PITCH!!
over 20 walks in two games shows me that bama has a lot of “throwers” who lack the correct mindset to become a pitcher! and some of that should be blamed on coaching!!!

I have to keep reminding myself that the pitching staff is incredibly young: eight freshmen (who would have missed most of their senior year in high school), a red shirt freshman and five sophomores (who would have missed most of their freshman year in college). Unless I’m overlooking someone, the only returning pitchers with SEC experience would be Will Freeman and Brock Guffey. Doesn’t change the present situation - just helps me with some context. Got to get some guys healthy to have any chance down the stretch.

We literally cancelled a game because we don’t have enough pitching.

Next on the Schedule for Baseball is a Wednesday Pairing with ULM
Alabama baseball will welcome the ULM Warhawks to Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Wednesday, March 7. The midweek matchup is set for a 3 p.m. CT first pitch with the game airing on SEC Network+.

Where did it say that?

Bama has already given up a 3 run HR. Starting pitcher is all over the place

Rough start to the game today. Hitt is the starter. Got the first two batters out then walk, base hit, home run. Bama trails 3-0. Walks next batter, but he was thrown out (on replay) trying to steal 2nd. Thirty pitches in the first inning. Bama now at bat. Hopefully things will settle down from here.

would love to know the percentage of batters walked/scored by bama pitching.
