Alabama Baseball's Evan Sleight First to Wear Jersey No. 3 in New Tradition (SI)

The jersey number "3" has a new meaning in the Rob Vaughn era of Crimson Tide baseball.

Did they change the name of the student section to Chaos? It was Right Field Ragers or something like that right?

Not that I’m aware of. Crimson Chaos is the student group that supports Bama athletics (most prominently basketball). Football has the block seating arrangement. Softball only allows something like 200 students in and they are in the brickyard. WBB and volleyball are sparsely attended in general compared to other sports.

I think they are drumming up support for baseball since the students get in free and right field can accommodate a large number (and they can have beer out there).

Coach Vaughn was on the Gary Harris Show today - they haven’t posted just the interview so this is a link to the entire show - LINK.

If they post just the interview I’ll post it. Per comments made about the show - Hess will start Friday, Quick on Saturday and Sunday is still tbd. Sounded like Davis would remain as the closer.

Skybox (who has posted here in the past) had these comments
quote:

Based off Vaughn's comments, it looks like we know a few of the expected spots with Miller (3B), Petrutz (LF), McCants (CF), Sleight (RF), Hodo (1B), and Hayslip (DH/Rotating in the outfield). If that all proves true with Guscette at Catcher, it looks like we will probably run out with Lebron at SS and Eblin at 2B. I think that has the most potential from a batting line-up perspective if the defense if good enough to justify it. Curious where Kade Snell will fit into all of this too.

I hope he has a 0.0 ERA coming into our game and he heads back to Baton Rouge with a 10 ERA. Then I wish him well the rest of the season

I'm not feeling so nice about that Shelton kid that went to UF. I will hold my tongue on how I really feel

Should be a fun year. Deep pitching staff with electric arms at the top and at the end of the pen. Like everything I've seen from Vaughn so far, excited to see the product on the field.

Really hoping Hayslip has finally figured it out like people seem to think he has. Sky is the limit for him with potential.
