I’m a huge Milroe fan but this offseason is make or break, Ty Simpson didn’t come back to play second fiddle. I truly believe we will have a qb battle.

Absolutely. No doubt about it. It’s going to be interesting because Alabama plays at Wisconsin in week three next season then hosts Georgia in the fourth game. I expect Milroe to start the season but if he struggles in one of those tough games I think that a change could be made.

One of Milroes largest issues IMHO is prereading the defense. We all really like Sark and Kiffens offenses, but those required the preread ability. Many sacks would not happen by using hot routes, quick outs, and RB flares. But that is usually an audible called prior to the snap. No QB is going to survive a 4+ second pocket time.

I don’t recall a single time all year where Milroe made any checks at the line. That should be evidence enough that we’re not playing with a full deck at the position.

Incredible athlete but limited in some of the essential areas that make QBs successful.

No doubt. The fact that we were able to win the SECCG with all of the issues on offense is remarkable. People are criticizing Rees and Saban but they should be commended. Hopefully they have a better idea of how to handle things going forward.

There were hot routes. They were open. His eyes were downfield.

And I put that on the coaches. He should have been using the hot routes as read one.

And I blame the coaches for that.

You don’t think the coaches have been telling him to take what the defense is giving him?

Some of y’all are just going to defend this guy beyond all logic. We’ve had guys running buck naked underneath all year and he just doesn’t throw it. I’m guessing he’s fully aware of his inadequacies in the short to intermediate game just like everyone else is.

shite, go watch the UGA game again, we left so much on the field. I don’t think they covered 17 on the underneath stuff all afternoon.

Blame is Milroe's.

Don't feel bad Crimson, usually when the masses here are against you? You're very much right. It just takes them a lot of time to realize things and when they finally come along they deny they ever said these things or we ever had these types of threads

So you think Jalen isn’t responsible for many of the sacks he took and he’s not a big reason our offense is so bad against good defenses?

No Texas game in week 2. 2 cupcakes then a pretty tough road game @Wisconsin. I genuinely think Saban wanted Simpson to grab the brass ring and it just didn’t happen. So we started Milroe to try to win the big OOC game

It’ll be interesting to see Simpson after being the backup for a year and Lonergan without the true freshman tag. Like most here I’d love to see a more polished guy step come forward

I think that the offensive line was dogshit with 3 different QBs and our offensive outputs against Georgia and Texas were significantly above their season averages

Not to deflect though. Milroe is at fault for a LOT of the sacks he took

Y’all are much more optimistic than I am about the possibility of a QB battle. Jalen has the locker room. Do y’all not remember that sad arse excuse of an effort from our players against USF? They were letting Ty get absolutely teed off on and not even offering to help him up.

Didn’t Milroe have the highest time to throw in the SEC?

Our OLine wasn’t good at the beginning of the year but they got better with the LT growing and Dalcourt being replaced. Seth’s snapping issues never improved though.

I’m not saying they don’t need to improve but I do not believe they are the biggest reason we gave up 49 sacks.

Even if the team did sandbag (which I hope to God isn’t true) I like to think that they wouldn’t do so if a guy in 2024 is clearly better than Milroe

Milroe’s best buddy (Terrion Arnold) is off to the NFL. We’ll see how long he holds on in the locker room if he doesn’t show improvement. We saw it in 2017 when Hurts kept showing ineptitude. At some point, the team will revolt.

It will cost us a loss or two before Saban replaces Milroe.

Yes, I agree because even with our QB and OL shortcomings if we had an OC who could actually scheme and gameplan well our results would have been different.

Literally none of you can explain why we didn't run any QB powers to exploit the edges the entire first half.

None.

All you can say is repeat that Milroe is limited. No shite.

Why the heck didn't our idiot OC run plays to use what he can do consistently? Why does he try to play him like a pro-style at the beginning of the game and need someone to knock him over the head to change the play calling... only to forget by the middle of the 4th quarter?

The crazy part of this is this is Milroe’s first season with a coach who may not be a good playcaller but actually has tried to develop him. Same with Ty Simpson.

You sound like LSU fans in years past when discussing Jayden Daniel's who always called him a dumb scrub and wanted the backup but magically of course forget all of that when it's beneficial. They never ever ever said a bad thing about Jayden!

If Milroe finds his form you guys will claim the same bullshite too.
