You’re completely discounting that McElroy would have adjusted the OL protection, he would understand where the pressure is coming from, and distribute the ball accordingly. All things Milroe doesn’t do well. Milroe can run the exact play that’s called, to his first or second read. If it’s not there, and he’s feeling decisive, he can take off running. The football IQ is missing, and so are all the small intricacies that go along with it. Not to mention, he has very little intermediate passing talent or ability to hit timing throws.

worst O line

The 2021 Oline is the worst and it isn’t close. You can keep trying to blame everything on the Oline to make up for Milroe but you’re wrong.

All tds count last I checked. He was our best passer and best runner, and a big reason we beat Georgia and made the playoffs.

He passed for 116 yards against Michigan and 192 against Georgia. Considering now the tape is out there that you run a zone to nullify him, it’s probably not going to be pretty next season a la Hurts season 2

He is not a good quarterback when you watch the tape. Missed receivers, horrible pocket movement, the issues with his pre-snap reads, etc. He was an early enrollee three years ago and still can’t seem to do basic things at QB

I would much rather have a Jake Fromm that can operate the offense and throw to every part of the field, even if it’s just average, than whatever our clusterfrick of an inefficient offense was. We will struggle against strong teams with this Mickey Mouse offensive approach he pigeon holes us into. It’s the same schtick as Hurts/Tua

I could care less if it’s Simpson or Lonergan, but both of them with another year should easily be able to unseat him simply because they don’t gimp our offensive playcalling. I would be shocked if Milroe suddenly became passable on the mental side, but he just doesn’t get it it seems.

If only their was a way to look that up. Oh shite there is. We gave up 41 sacks in 2021 in 15 games and 49 this year in 14 games.

We gave up almost a sack and a half more per game this year than in 2021.

Bro, If you think this OL was anywhere near as bad as the ones Bryce played behind you need to take the drugs AFTER the game not before. Lol

Dalcourt at center chris owens at RT, george, the flame out at LG, etc. The entire OL was truly awful.

This OL has four guys that will play on Sundays.

Yes, because every sack is the OL’s fault. You’re either a huge Milroe homer or you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Michigan and Georgia have pretty good defenses, they went like 29 and 1 combined this year, with the one loss being us, and we took the other team to OT. What QBs lit up Georgia or Michigan?

If we reduce “OL play” to that one singular stat… sure. There is far more to it, and you know it.

A checkdown does you no good when you're getting sacked before any of the receivers have a chance to turn around.

He didn’t get sacked or even pressured every play man. To pretend that he doesn’t have this issue is perplexing. His OL was bad at times, but he was responsible for at least some of the sacks. Even in the Michigan game he had a guy blitz literally right into his face and he just froze.

As a 4th year starter Jake Fromm was down 34-3 in the 4th quarter of the SECCG against a good but not great LSU defense

We had the worst pass blocking o line we have had under saban that was my point. So I used sacks, what statistic would you use that determines how bad a team was at pass blocking other than sacks allowed?

Agreed. Sacks =\ poor OL play in all cases. Milroe took “sacks” at the beginning of the year by running out of bounds behind the LOS instead of throwing the ball away. Maybe he never adjusted the OL protection because he doesn’t understand it. Maybe he stayed in the pocket for 5 seconds… he seems to love taking his time back there. Milroe’s decisiveness (or lack thereof) is yet another reason he got sacked.

I would at least look at additional statistics… unless if cherry picking stats to alleviate Milroe from blame. Did he get sacked after holding the ball for 5 seconds? Did he get sacked for not shifting protections? Did he get sacked by dropping the snap and falling on it? Did he get sacked by running out of bounds behind the LOS instead of throwing it away? Much more to it than just “look at the sacks, it’s the OL fault”

Why the frick are you taking up for Milroe so much ? He is a limited quarterback and displayed it against the two best defenses that he saw this year. Heck, he nearly lost to a terrible Arkansas team at home and took a miracle to beat a 6-6 Auburn team.

Scored 10 vs New Mexico State
Scored 24 vs Alabama
Scored 13 vs Maryland

Does Milroe play defense? Milroe is who won the game for us.
