Anyone else a little surprised it was Xavier McKinney in the post game PC?

How are the players chosen? By Saban? You typically have your leaders/best players there to answer questions. Not trying to disparage McKinney as he wasn't the problem on D, I just thought it strange.

McKinney has it between the ears, does things the way Saban wants them to be done, and is a future star.

What Prevatt said plus he looked very angry. Hopefully he uses that as motivation and becomes a leader for the team going forward.

Maybe that is the point of why he was chosen. Maybe Saban also did it to tell him it is time for him to step up as a leader.

We’ve got X for one more season. He’s got 1st round pick written all over him

McKinney is one of our better defensive players. He played better than Thompson over the second half of the year.

Thompson and Wilson both disappeared for most of the season. Disappointed by their play yet they are being projected by most drafts as 1st round picks.
For their sake hope the projections are true, but you never know this till all the trials and combines and coaching changes have finished.

X is the leader. I really really like the young guys attitudes! X is mature and wants, so does Surtain, Trevon Diggs is trying to make it to the league like his brother, Carter if he stays. Secondary should make big leaps next year

The more I think about it, the more I think that the green DC had more to do with the regression than anything. Thompson was a heat seeking missile at the end of the 2017 season and this year he seemed like he was having to think too much or something.

IMO, Thompson and Wilson regressed. It may have been that they were not comfortable calling coverages and alignments. The common denominators last year was that Minkah and Evans were putting everyone in position to make plays.

He was up there with Saban, Tua, and Jacobs for one of the media things earlier in the week too. I assume it's because he's intelligent, doesn't say stupid shite, and does his job well.
