Just tweeted “Football.....it’s been real” and locked his account on twitter so there’s no way to link his post. If you follow him you’ll see it

Update: He deleted the post

I guess his heart wasn't in it. He had a poor spring and was way behind anyway. Good luck to him.

If so, then he has some serious problems. I hope he gets things worked out.

Hoping he gets things straight regardless of football . Kid is too young to be dealing with this already . Life will get harder

It seems like the kid came into the program dealing with mental issues. I hope he gets the help he needs.

I feel like I'm missing part of the story. What is he dealing with?

Signed with UW, parents got divorced so he thought about giving up football , never enrolled there , transferred to Bama to be “closer” to family gets here and goes on a hiatus for a week or so and Saban said it was “personal” issues and then he comes back and now maybe this

Pure speculation as to what is wrong with the young man but hope all works out in the end for him

What a weird situation. Good luck to him with whatever he wants to do with his life I guess. I still don't understand how an 18 year old's parents splitting up could possibly cause the kind of issues he seems to have been dealing with for a couple of years now. I think there has to be more to it than that.

This reminds me more of Duron Carter.

Never played a down, never mattered.

I checked, you are correct. He played in garbage time as well, had 10 tackles on the year, 8 of them on special teams.

Its simply another misevalution on our part. You mean to tell me there wasn't any good LBs in his class to poach from Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana or Texas??

We didn't land any LBers from those states because they chose to go elsewhere.

We didn't land Kaho in that class either. He signed with Washington.

How is it a misevaluation? They may not have fully grasped the severity of his personal issues, but Saban takes on guys like that all the time and there's just no way to know if they will work out. He got on the field a bit as a true freshman despite coming in at the 11th hour, so he obviously has talent. He just has a ton of personal issues. It's probably just another Grant Hill kind of situation.

Here's how:

"The Crimson Tide does not just recruit high school players, it evaluates them psychologically to determine if they can fit into the culture. Alabama is a demanding place to play, and the staff will dig in on a prospect and investigate how he handles criticism or being corrected. Mental makeup is important, critical, in recruiting a player. If you are a high school player with all the measurables and you did not get offered by Alabama, look in the mirror." - Phil Savage, "4th and Goal Everyday"

When Saban mentioned we'd lost the "Alabama factor," he wasn't just talking about the players on Saturdays...

Also from the same book:

"The five-hour radius is ideal, but as Alabama has broadened its brand the last eight years, it has become a more national player in recruiting. Of the 116 players listed on the 2016 roster—which included invited walk-ons and scholarship players—71 were from out of state. Of those 71, 44 were from outside the five-hour-drive time."

There is no coincidence that our level of championship game domination has decreased since we've started recruiting outside of the 5 hour radius mentioned in Savage's book.
