The inability to develop a pitcher to replace Fouts and not developing hitters. Most of the ladies are as good as they are going to be the day they step foot on campus.

Murphy didn’t evolve with the game. Point blank. Program has been steadily declining the last 10 or so years. Fouts masked it for a couple.

The most egregious play of this OSU game came in the bottom of the 7th. They had just thrown the runner out at home to get two outs and the catcher could have easily thrown the batter out taking second to end the game. Or potentially get the 3rd base runner hung up in a run down if she tried to take home on the throw to 2nd. Instead, catcher holds the ball and allows the go ahead run to take 2nd standing up.
Next batter, base hit game over. Just not good ball. Not good coaching.

This reminds me of 7 years back when this gem was going around social media, especially with that not being Murphy in the picture coaches who refuse to learn, change, or adapt are equally terrible.
