Dude, take off the crimson glasses. This team is bad! We should be either undefeated or have 1 loss at this point in the season. This team is probably the weakest Murphy has put out there in 20 years. But everyone should have known that after last year. Murphy doesn’t have the ingredients for his formula that’s as antiquated in softball as the wing T is in football.


1. Stud pitcher he can ride until her arm falls off. Nope. Montana is gone and there’s no replacement in sight.
2. Great defense to bail out the pitchers when they don’t throw a no hitter. Nope. We haven’t put a top notch defense on the field in several seasons now. It’s getting worse, not better.
3. One or two big bats to sprinkle between effective slap hitters/speed. Nope. Team 29 can do neither to great effect.


So of the 3 legs of Murphy’s career strategy, we have none at the level necessary to make his plan work. SEC teams will feast on team 29. A better team last year won one SEC series. Are we going 0fer this year? Quite possibly. Murphy has done juuust enough to get by for probably 5 seasons now. That’s not gonna happen this year. That lone natty is a speck in the rear view mirror and recruiting is getting tougher as the rest of the league is getting better and Murphy and Bama aren’t. He’s not evolving and the game is. It’s past time for a change, this year should ring alarm bells in the AD’s office for sure. Bama softball is a has been just like the coach and change is needed immediately.

First of all, WTF.

And second of all, there are no clear upgrades available. You want to fire a coach that’s made the WCWS 3 of the past 4 seasons. That’s the definition of spoiled and how you end up with a Bryan Harsin level hire.

If we make the WCWS this year, I’ll take a thread ban. They won’t even sniff OKC! I feel bad for these girls; they didn’t sign on to be batting practice for the rest of the SEC. What will OU and Texas do to this club? The fact that Bama will be massively outclassed in those series should be reason enough to fire Murphy. Bama was on top of the SEC and the nation in 2012, beating OU for the title. They were runners-up 2 years later. All was well. Then Murphy put it on cruise control ever since. The first few years after that allowed the rest of the conference and other bluebloods to catch up to and pass Alabama. The last 5 years or so the wheels have been slowly coming off and now the process is complete. This team is showing every sign of being non-competitive out of conference and they are about to run straight into the buzz saw known as the SEC and its going to get ugly. How long would you let Murphy hang around 1713? He has nearly destroyed the program he built. It’s time to stop the bleeding this season.
