Just out of curiosity and to see if there was any sort of correlation. I compiled this list of attempts and yards per game so far this season. I got nothing so far. Maybe I'll break it down by half(?).

Vs FSU 29 attempts with 87 yards, avg 3
Vs ULM 36 attempts for 212 yards, avg 5.8
Vs Wis 34 attempts for 72 yards, avg 2.1
Vs UGA 38 attempts with 117 yards, avg 3
Vs vandy 38 attempts with 146 yards, avg 3.8
Vs Missouri 44 attempts with 125, avg 2.8
Vs TN 32 attempts with 142 yards, avg 4.4
Vs uSC 23 attempts with 74, avg 3.2
Vs LSU 26 attempts for 56 yards, avg 2.1
Vs OU 33 attempts for 80 yards, 2.4

With the new clock rules and the way we sit on the ball offensively I’m less concerned with total run yards than YPC.

We aren’t and won’t ever be run heavy under DeBoer/Grubb.

What we need to do in order to compete for championships is be competent running when we need to.

That means knowing we can pickup a 3rd and 2 running A gap. We aren’t there yet.

It means falling forward so the 2 yard runs are 3 yard pickups. We aren’t there yet.

And it means the OL not letting our RBs take first contact 1+ yards deep in the backfield. We aren’t there yet.

I'll grab yards per carry for each back... Now you have me curious on that. Great points

Actually surprised the average was that low at Georgia. While no explosive runs, it felt like we got 3-4 yards every rush on first down...keeping us ahead of the sticks and opening up the offense.

It's the 2nd and 9s we always have that are killers.

Georgia shut down the running game. Ty converted a lot of third downs.

Georgia defense is one of the weaker ones in the SEC. And the worst at generating pressure

I bet if we stayed in the shotgun so our RBs are passively waiting for a handoff and our fat OLineman are resting back on their heels in a 2-point stance we’ll run the ball so much better.
