Yea I dunno about better John Metchie, but he has a lot of Metchie in his game. I think he's faster than Metchie, but he has a lot of big catches to make to equal Metchie.

He will definitely fill that role this coming season, though, and quite well I think.

I think this is accurate. From what I've seen Metchie seems to be 2nd round and burton projected in 3rd-4th round as of now. I think they are similar speed wise actually. Both suppose to be 4.5 guys. We'll see though with Metchie tearing his ACL.

Syd, what are you referring to ? There's nothing about my response even remotely close to debatable or wrong. The Metchie remark wasn't me so ...

It’s elementary, Mecole: he wants to win back to back natties.

Wouldn't it be something if Burton won a national championship at 1 school and the next year won another national championship at another school? I don't think that's ever been done before.

Did he say anything when Brandon Turnage transferred from us to UGA last year?

What about his teammate Maurice Smith?

Still amazing to me that Saban went out and picked up the best available DB, RB, and WR (arguably with Mario Williams I guess) in the portal. I know Saban is at the tail end of his career but if he masters the portal consistently like he mastered recruiting, he's going to have rosters that just don't have many, if any, holes going forward.

He's basically going to be able to take the corporate world strategy of trimming/replacing the bottom 10% every year to constantly elevate your talent pool to an extreme level. He can erase the misses in HS recruiting and player development (which are already elite).

Still think the one position you can't consistently miss on in HS recruiting/development is Oline. Feels like the one position where you need those guys in your system multiple years working together.

Better numbers would be a plus. Metchie had some issues dropping well thrown balls.

Harder for him to shine and get seperation when DB's are on him and he is the focus. Lot easier to look good when you had Smitty and Waddle running wild scaring the shite out of the opposing DC's
