That's rumor, not fact. Charles Barkley said the same thing about Turner Gill, but there's no evidence that it's true.
There are plenty of racists left in the world, but I guarantee that there aren't enough of them controlling the purse strings in any major university athletic department to prevent the hire of a coach who has the backing of the AD.
Hell, Texas held on to Cleve Bryant for 13 years, and he loved boning white women. They're not going to pass over Charlie Strong just because he's married to one. If they pass him over, interracial marriage won't be the reason.

When exactly does Elam announce tomorrow? And are we in it for any other recruits at the game?

My apologies on an earlier comment I guess.
ETA: Guy I got my info from got lied to by Whitley, he showed me the screencap and everything.

Galena Park (Texas) North Shore linebacker Zach Whitley has committed to UCLA, flipping from Alabama...

That sucks, maybe that means Clark will definitely play LB?

Joe Jamail has enough power at Texas to prevent them from hiring a black coach.
Will he do it? Probably not because they're getting turned down by too many people to not hire somebody over race, but don't think for a moment he isn't one of the most racist people around.
When he says something Texas will always listen because he has promised to leave the university the majority of his fortune(~500M) in his will.
Off-topic: Howdy, and thanks for letting me on y'alls board.

I swear to God if we lose Christian Miller....

His teammate was big, just like everyone else this year. Likely missing on Wallace because of a teammate committed to Arky too.
Was Bama's top WILL prospect, stings a bit coming off last night.

At this rate we won't even sign 25 this cycle.

Because UCLA took Toran I guess. You shouldn't have to take a Boise state level prospect to land a Zach Whitley. Especially since Whitley committed to us back in May, this shows they only took Toran to get Whitley. Can't these kids make individual decisions anymore? Are kids not taught the value of making their own decisions anymore?
I am sorry but the teammate thing is started to seem like such a BS tactic. Especially in the day and age of the 247/365 (not the site specifically) recruiting cycle. Kids today recruiting starts when they are a Sophomore and ends when they sign. They spend most of their summers going to camps, and most of their winters going to school visits and working with private trainers. The truth is blue chip recruits rarely if ever see their high school teammates. Especially the 4/5 star guys. So why are shite show programs having such success by recruiting 4/5 star's two star teammate they never see? And why is it coming back to bite specifically us so hard?
Look at the guys we sign every year then look at the entire LIST of guys committed to us at some point who end up signing elsewhere. Like I said yesterday with Travis Rudolph, kids use us directly for publicity. No one follows West Coast recruiting to the extent they do in the South and Texas. Zach Whitely has been committed to us since May. If he had committed to UCLA back in May no one would have cared past late May.
Anyone getting tired of kids using us? Even a guy like Rudolph no one talked about him until last week when he started name dropping Alabama. Hell no one commented on his articles from November when he cut his list to Miami, Florida, and FSU. But he trends on twitter when he name drops us.
We are suffering the same BS that rappers rap about. We are simply a vehicle for kids who have no intention of actually playing here to get exposure. Which is starting to turn me off on recruiting that these kids are being encouraged to flat out lie.
Why can't these guys be more like Leonard Fournett? After all the BS back and forth between Bama/LSU fans on that kid he handled his whole process with class. And he has the production and potential to back up the hype. And what is scary is he is committed to LSU now and he has none of the ego you would think the top Back in perhaps years would have.

You know in the age of all these last minute flips because "My friend" is going there. Do you think any of these coaches are shitty enough to make offers quid pro quo? Couldn't they get into serious trouble for that?

What sucks is he is exactly the kind of coverage linebacker we need going forward, could have seen the field early and often. Honestly, I know was dumb at 18, but i dont think i as dumb as some of these kids.

Pretty much guarantees that Ronnie Clarke is going to play olb. Also, makes me we have Holcombe and makes keeping miller vital (lucky Georgia screwed the pooch as bad as we did)
