I know Cornwell is visiting on the 16th but isn't expected to throw. I really wish he would to determine if he gets an offer

If he's just visiting, as opposed to camping, then it would be a big no-no for him to throw or do any type of "tryout" for the coaches. NCAA rules don't allow it. When Kincade was talking about our coaches taping him throw in the spring to show CNS, I assume he means during the spring evaluation period when our coaches watch him at his high school's spring practice.

I'm torn on our "must throw at camp" policy. I agree with Mag that it's crucial for us to do our due diligence and CNS obviously believes that includes him personally watching them throw. On the other hand, it sucked last year watching big time QBs commit before we had even had our camps. Right now we appear to be in good shape, but I'm going to start getting nervous is some of the guys we've "offered" commit to other schools over the next few months. Regardless, I'm confident we're going to get a quality QB in the '14 class.

I hope so. I don't really want him. I want

Cornwell
Bo Scar
Ermon Lane
Cameron Sims
Lil Luatua
Jeb Blaze
Rod Taylor
Damien Mama/Viane Talamalioavaaaloavovovlolololo
Jordan Sims
Damien Prince
Andy Bauer
Jermaine Illuminati
Zo Carter(want DeShawn Hand, but ZC will be here)
Dante Sawyer
Elisha Shaw
Charles Mosley
Marlon Humphrey
Nick Watkins(Want J Tabor. He blows us off but he blows everyone off. Thompson can pull it off it anyone can though

Kalvarez Bessant
Ronnie Clark
Hootie Jones
Kain Daub
EJ Moss

That's a class of 23. Thats who I like that I think we could possibly get(some being tougher gets than others.) There are obviously a lot of players i'd LOVE to get that I don't think we will like Leonard Fournette, Cameron Robinson, DeShawn Hand, Andrew Brown, Jalen Hurd, Jalen Tabor, Jabrill Peppers, Josh Frazier, Jesse Aniebonam.

I'm loving your attempt at a projection this early. Maybe we can spice this thread up by everyone giving theirs. I will definitely give mine in the morning. Nice idea Nic.

We offered 2015 Jack LBer Mekhi Brown. He plays at the same school that produced Isaiah Crowell, Jarvis Jones, and Gabe Wright. Auburn just hired his high school coach in a recruiting role. He did, however, state that he prefers to play in a pass rush role in a 3-4 defense.

Oh yeah, he's 6'6" and weighs 235 pounds as a sophomore.

We just offered 5-star OL Braden Smith from Kansas. I'll link his profile and highlights tomorrow morning. The guys from BOL are really high on him.

Smith visited for the A&M game last year. Apparently he's really excited about the offer. There's a debate among 247 analysts on whether he projects better at Guard or Tackle.

I'll quote it all in the morning.

Bone, who apparently has a close relationship with Shaun Hamilton, thinks Bama has the edge due to Hamilton's relationship with Smart. Definitely news to me.

Tis true lol.

I wonder with so many offers out how many of those kids are really interested in camping or attending A-Day.

Braden Smith

Highlights

quote:

Dave Smith talked to his son about the offer. Braden is a young man of few words but I know for a fact in talking to the family this was one of the offers he really wanted.

"He said that’s pretty cool," Dave Smith recapped. "He said he talked to Nick Saban and they offered him at the school and he thought that was pretty cool. That was about as much as I could get out of him."

Smith visited Tuscaloosa for the Texas A&M game and will get back again.

"Oh yeah," the elder Smith said. "We’ll be probably going down there in the summer time."

Smith visits Michigan, Ohio State and Notre Dame next week.

quote:

Smith is without a doubt a first off the bus guy. Impressive frame and almost no bad weight on him.

quote:

I think he could play tackle or guard on the next level. Most analysts are saying guard. We'll see. Either way he has a lot of tools to be a great player on the next level.

quote:

I also caught up with Braden Smith's coach Jeff Gourley this evening. He told me that he could see that Braden was very excited although he didn't really express it verbally.

"I said did you talk to Nick Saban," Gourley recapped. "He said he offered. I said congrats on getting offered by the National Champs. He said it's pretty cool and we shook hands. It's the only offer that we've shaken hands over."

I think this gives you an idea the type of personality Smith has, and it's a personality I like in my o-linemen.

New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine CB Jermaine Roberts indicates that he is now likely to visit UA next weekend for Jr. Day instead of this weekend as previously planned. Five-star teammate Leonard Fournette is also expected to attend at that time as well.

Some other big names have also indicated they plan on heading to UA on 16th like Lorenzo Carter, David Cornwell, Jordan Sims, just to name a few.

I believe so. I think he came to the LSU game back in 2011. I could be wrong though.
