Anyone own/owned a Land Rover Discovery? I'm thinking about buying one on Saturday. Need some advice.
if you search a little bit you find that landrovers are the least reliable uk brand (71% breakdown) and the discovery is the least reliable car overall (85% breakdown). I'm guessing you need something 4wd for Idaho? Do you need lots of ground clearance?

yeah, or a jacked up 4runner or something, if clearance is needed. if not, then most folks around where i live swear by subarus. Probably going to be getting an outback pretty soon myself

That would be my advice and those sons of bitches are extremely cheap for as good quality as they are. I had a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS that was a 4 door AWD and put 300,000 miles on it driving all around Bham working different jobs etc

And the chassis and engine are both high quality low maintenance I'm looking to get a Subaru Forrester or dream car would be the Baja but they are hard to find since it is not in production any more and has the strongest AWD chassis of a truck in that smaller range

My buddy got a late 90's 4 runner in HS with like 120-150k miles. He just got out of college and still drives it with over 320k, hasn't had to put hardly anything into it and goes off road all the time. Hell of a vehicle

Not to be as A** but yall keep getting my hopes up with all the post about cars on a recruiting thread. With such a big game and all the Fluker crap i would expect maybe a little info coming out from recruits like perdictions and what not.

Per BOL, they don't feel that the Fluker stuff will affect this recruiting cycle. They still feel confident in most of the commits making it in.

FSU has been in contact with Bo. He will visit there sometime this fall. Most feel that this visit is just for fun. He is also planning on a visit to UGA.

They still feel that Stephen Roberts will stick with us. He is saying all of the right things. Said that even though he has visited auburn a lot, it may just be visiting with friends and it being close to home. The real sign of his intentions will come when there are more bama home games. Will he choose to visit Auburn or Bama when bama is at home? This is one to monitor for sure.

Viane Talamaivao predicts that we will blow out texas am. He has been trying to recruit some of our west coast targets. Love the kid's confidence in the A&M game. Only wish that I was that confident!

In an interview he predicted a Bama win but said something along the line that he'd like to see JFF win to prove everyone wrong about him. Wouldn't read too much into it.

Didn't see anything on his twitter, but I wouldn't doubt it. The kid is a major troll. Someone asked him if he was going to bama on fb and he responded that he was only considering FSU and USCe. He then posted the pic of the convo on twitter. He also told another fan that he was commiting to some team I've never heard of.

The kid wants to drum up some excitement for his announcement and enjoy the process.

Some rumblings of Jacob Coker (backup qb FSU) wanting to transfer. Rumors are saying he is considering us, OM, and FL. He might graduate in the spring. I think this will leave him with two years of eligibility. Kid seems legit.

What do you think the odds are of us getting him? Would he have to sit out a year? The only way I would see him being a must have is if he is able to contribute right away. Thoughts?

if he gradumacates and then come to Bama with a masters degree that FSU does not have then he would not have to sit out. Unless those rules were changed. See the wisky QB who is now with the Seattle Seahawks

Pretty sure the SEC passed a rule about a year ago that did away with the transfer exemption for any player transferring to the SEC. If Coker does transfer, I'm guessing it won't be to an SEC school unless he's ok with sitting out a year.

If he is graduating in spring that means he'll be enrolling in graduate school in Alabama, so he would be able to immediately play.

There are no limitations for playing when transferring schools when the new University is for graduate studies after completion of undergrad degree.

I was confused about this so I looked it up. Here is what I found:

quote:

SEC Bylaw 14.1.15 “A student-athlete who, upon enrollment at the certifying institution, has less than two years of eligibility remaining, is not eligible for financial aid, practice or competition at the member institution. A member institution may request a waiver from the Conference office for a student-athlete transferring from an institution discontinuing a sport, or for a student-athlete transferring for the purpose of enrolling in an academic program not offered at the institution from which he or she is transferring.”

LINK

It seems like Coker wouldn't fall under this rule because he would have two years of eligibility left.

That used to be the case but the SEC passed a rule to do away with the graduate student exemption after Masoli transferred to Ole Miss.

ETA: read the post above. Could be that Coker is still exempted if he has more than 1 year left. But the SEC did close the (NCAA) loophole allowing players who have graduated to play their final year without sitting out the way Russell Wilson and Masoli did
