Allen is two inches shorter and 30 lbs heavier
Posted on 8/14/13 at 6:54 pm to TreyAnastasio
Allen is also 1st yr in College

Carter has the frame of Adrian Hubbard coming out of high school, but he's 10 pounds heavier than Hubb was.

Agreed
I know this is a haughty comparison but Evans looks a lot like Von Miller to me

I based that off their recruiting profile weights

No way anyone running anything close to a 3-4 would waste Carter trying to make him a down lineman. With his LB ability, he probably could play the trendy 4-3 hybrid as well.
I think Evans would be a better fit in the latter, early on anyway. With what Bama asks as far as setting the edge, his size doesn't sync up the same(6-2, 217 on his recent visit, though I understand size is not static). If Bama ran a system more to a true 3-4, ironically a misconception they are still trying to shake, he'd be a great fit IMO. Shooting gaps standing up with his speed, or a very wide/ghost 9 in a 43/44/33 would be great.
I think you could fit him into what Bama does run, it's just a bit against precedent at JACK. That may be for the better in some aspects, as a lot of what has been at JACK are more edge setters and runstoppers before passrushers. Maybe they want more...

I just don't see how we are going to concede the entire state of Louisiana back to LSU after putting in years of effort to recruit some of these guys. It would end any serious future campaigns and I doubt Saban would let that happen. I look for at least one heavy from LA to be added to this class. It's Mano A Mano time folks.

could I be totally wrong on CRob? Sure but it doesn't lookalike he will be at Bama as of today
I trust your projection more than my own but that would be a pretty big miss for us and I would have the Sadz.

There is still plenty of time and I don't think its as bad for Bama as I have been told the last week
I don't believe a heavy lead could just evaporate overnight especially with such a significant position development advantage

I just hope La'el is good but not great and returns for his senior season.

its still a toss up...like bucc said, a long way until signing day. it seems like he likes whoever he has visited last. ganna be a fun one to keep up with

It will be his 1st season at LT (if Im not mistaken) in the SEC
LT is a totally different OL position than any other OL position
It will be a struggle

Try to convince an LSU fan of that.
At least the vocal minority have him already projected as a first round pick.

There's a reason he didn't play OT last year, I'm in the minority but that concerns me

You are in the major minority
But it should and Garfield is right wouldn't be surprised to see him hang around a yr to get it down but we will see
Luckily not as many speed rushers in the SEC West this yr
And not facing USCe
a 1st yr LT against Clowney would be reason enough to stay 1 more yr to live the tape down
Bama will definitely be a struggle for him
Also might help if CyKo boosts his stock and ends up #1 and I could see it happening barring a influx of QB hype

I think that is the rational approach. La'el is obviously extremely talented and I firmly believe he will play in the NFL, I just think it is a bit much to declare him a "projected" first round pick at LT without ever playing a down there in cfb (although that may be what ends up happening).
At the end of the day, I can't blame LSU fans, I tend to over project Bama player too. I have stated that several of our recruits will be one and done (although that is not possible in cfb).

FWIW, BOL responded to the rumors that LSU had overtaken Bama for Cam late last week and said that people close to him still say Bama leads.

Four more analysts predicted Charles Mosley to Tennessee yesterday. I guess that ship has sailed.

Yeah, I saw that. I knew it was an overreaction.
