Diante Smith released a top 7 (obviously no Bama) and it had South Alabama and FGCU in it

He's still top 100 on 247. That'd be a great get for USA.

I realize we're longshots, but I thought Jeffries was at least visiting. We for sure have three spots to fill, and maybe more with transfers and the draft. I'd like to see us continue to go after guys.
I wonder if we end up throwing a guy like Kobe Brown an offer. A year ago it seemed like I was lower on Brown than all the recruiting websites. Now it's like Brown doesn't exist.

So we'll have Riley, Donta, and Jr graduating, and figure we'll have at least one other person leaving, whether to the draft or to transfer. We've got Gary and Forbes committed, so that leaves at least two spots open.
Wonder if we strike out on Watford if we go a grad transfer route or just a regular transfer route? Or if we go after someone like Brown or another player under the radar. I'd just hate to not be full up on scholarship like we always seemed to be under Grant.

I would hold one for a transfer before going after someone that will be of little help.

We have shown some interest in Jaden Shackelford from California also. Top 150 on 247. Billed as a shooter.

Good point. I sort of thought of him as a backup plan if we missed on Forbes.

I think Brown could be good undersized 4. He's gone from overrated to underrated.

RPI is being replaced by NCAA committee as the primary ranking/eval by a new system called "NET"

Looks like they are blending predictive and strenght of record rankings. I am a big fan if they weight it more heavily towards strength of record.

Heard that scoring margin is being capped at 10 pts. Like why the Hell would you even use it then? Blowing a team out by 20+ is one hell of a lot different than a close game that ended up as a double digit loss because of fouling and FTs.

Yeah, 10 is stupid low. I think 20 would be a better ceiling. You can easily get to 10 just by the trailing team missing 3's and you hitting your subsequent free throws. It might be a close game until the final minute. You should get credit for winning by a larger margin than 10.
