Heard that scoring margin is being capped at 10 pts

Not sure why the NCAA can't just get on board with a diminishing marginal margin system. As in, the difference between winning by 1 vs 2 pts is more than 30 vs 31.

hell of a lot different than a close game that ended up as a double digit loss because of fouling and FTs.

A lot of teams may change their end of game strategy though which could be interesting

Losing by 1 may be a better deal than risking losing by 8-10

I'm hoping the margin of victory component has very little impact.

I wouldn't mind if it cut out fouling when down 5 with 30 seconds left.

I hate when teams are down by like 6 and foul too, but margin of victory shouldn't be too big of a deal. You don't want a win over Georgia Southern by 10 being better than a 1 point win over Duke, and you don't want it to be so dramatic that teams are incentived to take a close loss instead of trying to win.

He's a guy that I really like looking at his tape. He also had solid production in AAU. Confuses me as to why he doesn't have better offers. Defensive issues perhaps? Regardless we're not the only high-major that's offered him. KSU made an offer a few months ago and he's from California so I wouldn't assume we'll land him.

I'd be happy with the addition, but probably not good news when it comes to everyone outside of Watford that we're after.

Pettway is the coach that follows him on twitter so we may actually want him. If Ya starts recruiting him, no chance he leaves the west coast.

This is what it says.

Official visits are:

Alabama-Sep 29
Pepperdine-Oct 6
Gonzaga- Oct 13
Tulane-Oct 20
K-State-Nov 4 (may change it to San Diego St if things don’t exactly pan out with the Wildcats)

Thank you sir. Very interesting list

Maybe the staff sees him as a Bryce Brown type guy? Criminally under-recruited but a true 3 point specialist that can excel in the right system

Then again you might have a team down by 12 start fouling in order to get it to under 10 right?

And it might cut down on the scrubs’ PT too. If I were up 15 with 2 minutes to play I wouldn’t put in my walkons unless the other team did.

Well one thing we’ve desperately need for years is pure shooters. If we can get a bunch of guys who are considered great shooters that need work in other places, I’m fine with that. That’s better than getting a guy who is great at defense and can’t shoot, bc sometimes u can’t teach a player to get better shooting wise

That makes his offer list way more legitimate than what 247 had a few days ago. They had Long Beach State as his best offer

I do find it funny that San Diego State is the odd man out of a group that includes Pepperdine and Tulane.

Not sure I am with you on this 100%. I think teaching a guy to be a catch and shoot open 3pt shooter is just coaching, player effort and practice volume.

Example: Auburn's Anfernee McLemore shot 18-46 3FG (~40%) with a shot that would make Rodney Dangerfield look attractive. McLemore just spends hours to ensure when open, he hits the shot. He probably could never hit shots in transition or defended

I agree when it comes to what I'd call "true shooters." Not sure you can realistically teach the natural feel to adjust their shot/arc in the moment when off balance, shooting over defender or from unusual locations

Example: Jimmer Fredette has the body control and feel to adjust any shot despite momentum, balance etc
