few things from last night:
1) crowd was good, packed at the start. It was a great atmosphere,
2) Never seen a visiting team have more fans than that beside Auburn. 2000? Enjoyed every interaction with their fans. They had a good many folks at Druid City Brewery before/after.
3) We have a lot of upside. We could have played better but they were really good.
4) Holloway needs to play a little less in the first half so he can play more effectively late.
5) We have room to improve. That's obvious. I feel good about it.
6) Freshmen all looked a little lost last night. That's ok. They'll get it.
7) You can't put a team like that in the 1-1 at the 15 minute mark. When that happened, I was like 'welp not good'.
Win the next one!

I agree with everything you said. Though #7 is why college basketball needs to switch to quarters. That, or change the 1and1 to a higher number, like 7.

What’s the holdup on going to quarters?
I don’t like it necessarily but that side of it makes sense.

You shoot 1 and 1 on the 7th foul

I remember Purdue playing at Bama when I was in school, 2010 I think, and damn near half the crowd was Purdue fans, and they were loud. Those frickers really travel well. Very passionate.

Yea much respect to their program. If we can't win it, I have no issue with them doing so.
The Waysider was packed this morning with Sooner/Purdue fans. It was a good scene. Our fans were treating them really nice which was cool to see.
Waitress made one Okla fan do their cheer and he got up and goes "Boomer Sooner?....that's it!" Big laughs. Purdue fan chimed in with "can we do Purdue now?" and this really old Ala gentlemen turns and says "we've moved on!"
Good scene. College sports is cool (most of the time).

Posted this in the game thread, but thought I'd move it here.
I don't have many complaints about last night, but anybody else lose it when Allen was sent to inbound the ball? It was right after him having to call a timeout because he was hesitant to pass the ball which allowed him to get trapped on the worst possible spot of the court.
I really like Allen and it worked out, but I was floored with that decision. He's already great and will continue to grow, but he's still a freshman and that's a terrible spot for him to be in. He just showed you his hesitancy to make an easy pass and you send him out there for a crucial inbounds play with no timeouts? It definitely shows the amount of trust Oats has in him (even if it's a bit much for myself at this point )

Odd that a blueblood (AU) would have such a low amount of wins on that chart; lol

How good is Jalil Bethea and when can we expect him back? Looks like another big guard.

He was the 7th ranked recruit in the 2024 class. In the right system with the right coaching he can be a stud.

The Players Era tournament uses a format that includes a pre-set schedule for the first two days, leading to championship and third-place games on the third day. Teams are divided into pods for the initial games, and their records after these games determine their placement in the final day's matchups. Tiebreakers for seeding include head-to-head results, point differential, points scored, and points allowed.
Tournament structure
Initial phase: Teams play pre-set games on the first two days of the tournament.
Championship day: On the third day, the format shifts to determine final rankings.
2-0 teams: The teams that win their first two games advance to the championship game.
1-1 teams: Teams with a 1-1 record from the first two days play in the third-place game.
Other teams: The remaining teams are placed in other consolation games based on their records and seeding within their initial groups.
Tiebreakers
If teams have the same record after the initial games, the following tiebreakers are used to determine seeding for the championship/third-place games:
Head-to-head record
Total point differential from both games
Total points scored
Total points allowed
