Nothing like trying to play our way to a #1 seed and a SEC regular season title, only to have the last few pages filled with bitching about how much Avery may have cheated.

Vanderbilt (1-3)
- #55 Overall (#6 SEC)
- #111 Offense (#9 SEC)
- #56 Defense (#6 SEC)

@ Georgia (L by 3)
Auburn (L by 6)
@ Miss St (W by 21)
Kentucky (L by 4)

So, they're playing better lately

Yeah, I watched their game against Kentucky and they looked like a team way better than their record. They really should have won that game.

So Ala beats Vandy and Aub beats LSU and it's over?

assuming no make up games. and the conference adding games after we have it clinched would be kind of wrong.

Just hope we come out with great energy to start off the game. VANDY is always a thorn in our side for some reason it seems

How much of that is a function of the opponents faced?

Auburn has lost 4 of their last 5 with the only win being against Vandy.

Mississippi State has lost 6 of their last 8 (wins vs 2-9 Iowa State and 5-10 USCe)

Kentucky has lost 4 of 6 with wins against Auburn and Kentucky.

Georgia is the only team with a recent winning record. They're 3-5 with wins against Auburn, Vandy, and a Tillmon-less Mizzou.

They may be actually playing better, but the schedule hasn't hurt at all.

Torvik is opponent-adjusted if I remember correctly.

They aren't great, or anything, but they're playing better basketball than they were early on when they were one of the worst Power 5 teams in the country. They are now one of the bottom 1/3 worst teams in the league (roughly equivalent to UGA, UK, MSU, AUB, USC) as opposed to one of the 2 god-awful teams earlier this year (along with A&M). They lost 3 of those 4 games but they were all 1 possession games in the last 2 minutes where as they were losing those games by 15 earlier in the year.

Since January 20 (last 30 days)
2-5 (2-5) Record
#77 Overall (#11 SEC)
#60 Offense
#131 Defense

Before January 20
4-6 (0-4) Record
#148 Overall (#14 SEC)
#88 Offense
#241 Defense

FWIW Alex Tchikou (Achilles) is doing more in warmups than he usually does. He's not in games shorts and still won't feature for Alabama this season, but he looks to be progressing nicely.

I was gonna say that there is no need to rush them back for this game if not close to 100%, but I definitely see the advantage of getting some of the rust off ahead of the Ark game on Wednesday after they have been out a while, especially with Bruner.

I would say we should try to get them a few minutes but not push it too much, assuming they are healthy enough to go.
