Probably good that we didn't play them.

SIAP, I haven't looked back at every post made today but we are favored by 16.5 points tomorrow.

We clinch at least a share of the SEC with a win tomorrow right?

I hate Vanderbilt. Their baseball team has the Whistler and their basketball team has Pippen Jr. They have a screwed up court and they just suck. Plus, they always seem to have our freaking number. I want to score 130 on their asses

Yeah, unless some games are made up. If we win tomorrow we would have to lose our final 3 games of the season without Arkansas losing for them to tie us. Even then I think we would still be the lone SEC champions since we would be 13 and 4 in conference and they would be 12 and 4.

so obviously we weren't doing the "exact same thing" they got caught doing.
No, our guy WAS doing EXACTLY the same thing for EXACTLY the same "advisor." It's right there in the FBI reports and charging documents. Chuck and Kobie Baker were co-employees of Rashan Michel.
The saving grace for us was that (unlike Chuck) our guy got on the gravy train late in the game and didn't have enough time to rack up a pile of criminal and NCAA violations. before the FBI came in with the handcuffs. That and only that is the reason why we're just on probation for 3 years and Auburn is sitting out the postseason hoping they don't get worse handed down.
You can read it for yourself right here in the FBI's criminal complaint against Chuck Person. Item 55, which starts at the bottom of page 30 and continues on page 31 isn't about Chuck Person and Auburn. It's about Kobie Baker and Alabama.

If this happens, I’m warning everyone, the melt that I will have, will be monumental. Y’all have no idea how much a SEC championship would mean to me. It will be the mother of all melts!

Conference championships are meaningless, especially regular season. Save your melt!
I noticed snb hanging around, so I saved him the trouble. Seriously though, as much as we all try to remain cautiously optimistic due to recent history, this bunch ain’t blowing a three game lead with four to go. Go ahead and buy your shirt.

You obviously dont know that Auburn got hit with the chuck person/fbi thing as well as other recruiting violations so I am not gonna argue with you about it. There are reasons they got serious penalties from the NCAA and we didn't.

He don’t need to start that shite with me. A conference title would mean the world to me

Why did the NCAA hit Auburn so much harder than is if we did "the exact same thing". The NCAA just loves Alabama I guess?

Again, Chuck and been at it undetected since 2016. He'd been used to transfer money to the two players' parents in order to get them to use the services of the "advisor" when they went pro - which he was encouraging them to do early and thus hurt rather than help Auburn. Money to the parents funneled through an assistant coach = extra benefits even if the coach isn't working in the best interests of the program.
Kobie Baker was given money to set up the meeting with Sexton's parents and presumably pay them off in the summer of 2017. He actually met with them August 31. 2017. Chuck Person was arrested and the wheels fell off on September 26, 2017. Baker's involvement became public, and Alabama compliance was able to deal with it before Sexton ever stepped on the floor which saved us from ever having used an ineligible player (unlike Auburn, which had played the kids without knowing Chuck was working for someone else).
It's all there in the link I gave, which isn't a news story written by a reporter. It's the actual charging document that was filed in court that lays out the facts of the case.
Well, to once again be completely factual, Alabama has been placed on 3 years' probation by the NCAA because of the actions of Kobie Baker. At the time of this discussion, the NCAA has levied no penalties whatsoever against Auburn's program for the actions of Chuck Person. Auburn initially declared Wiley and Purifoy ineligible and applied for reinstatement - just like Alabama did with Sexton. Auburn self-imposed this year's post season ban. It remains to be seen what, if any, formal NCAA punishments will come.

Right and Sexton got a one game suspension and Wiley and Purifoy got a year. You think Auburn post season banned themselves for the fun of it?
This discussion is a waste of time. If I wanted to discuss Auburn's violations with an Auburn apologist that disregards facts I would go to their board.

No, once again, Sexton never played while he was ineligible. Wiley and Purifoy played a ton.

I'm not being an apologist for anyone or anything. I provided factual links with actual sworn testimony and evidence, not speculation or news articles. Truth is truth, even if it isn't comfortable.
We got very, very lucky. If the FBI had waited a few more months before making the arrests, we'd have played Sexton and we'd be wondering how bad it was going to be just like Auburn is now.

We have read that several times now. Tell us what happened to Frankie Sullivan and Jordan VerHulst? They got suspended and apparently fired during the Person revelation.
Auburn wont explain it. And tell us about Auburns self imposed recruiting ban. Sherife Coopers dad's AAU team made a visit to Auburn during that period. Scheduled 4 months in advance. And its just a 2 hour drive. Almost all of Auburns stud recruits come from that AAU team. The NCAA knows Pearl will cheat and lie. And, it never stops.
