Do y’all think us taking 7 or 8 games to get going is gonna be a yearly thing with Oats?

I don't think so, it's only his 2nd year here, takes a while to get everyone bought in and playing well in the new system. Plus have a lot of new players playing their first minutes for us this season, Quinerly, Bruner, Primo, Ellis, Rojas, Gary, ect., the chemistry between them and the returning players we have took some time to click, but it looks really good now.

Even if you remove tempo, the only other teams in 2021 in the Top 20 in offense/defense

- Gonzaga
- Baylor
- Michigan
- Virginia
- Texas
- Wisconsin
- Colorado

I mean we basically have an elite basketball team. I'm starting to run out of ways to sugarcoat it.

Yea, and this includes the 2-3 weeks of dogshit.

I'm guessing if KenPom isolated his numbers to the last month we'd be a Top 10 team.

The improvements on defense have been the most impressive thing to me.

That's 98% effort, and the best thing about it is that defense travels.

Funny how sitting Petty and was it Q? seemed to jump start this run.

Should bump some of those rant threads.

We’ve had some really bad hairstyles on our team the past few years, but Watford might have all of those guys beat

Winners: Alabama's hot start continues

The best team in the SEC might reside in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and it's time we recognize that accordingly after the Crimson Tide demolished Arkansas 90-59. The win improved the Tide to 6-0 in SEC play, continuing the program's best start since 1986-1987 when it opened league play 8-0. And at seven games (and counting), it's also the longest winning streak for Alabama since the 2011-2012 season.

Even better news for the Tide, was the return of senior forward Herb Jones, who injured was listed as questionable for the game after injuring his finger in Tuesday's win at Kentucky. Jones started and scored 13 points in 22 minutes.

"If Herb's breathing and capable of playing, he's playing," Alabama coach Nate Oats said.

I remember being so mad at Oats for saying we didn’t put forth enough effort after early games. I thought it was a BS excuse. Turns out it was true

Someone pointed it out earlier in the game thread.

Petty had poor defensive effort start of the third quarter up 20. Oats pulled him immediately... Guys being held accountable all the time. Creates culture
