Hopefully the boys treat Saturday as a business trip.

Can't think of any other reason to visit Lee County - certainly not for pleasure

20-3 and riding a 16 game winning streak heading into the last 10 days of the season only to lose to A&M, Vandy, Arky, State and Auburn to end the year?
I can see it.

We'd head into the NCAA Tournament as like a 4-6 seed and all hate everything about ourselves.
It's perfect!

Thoughts on LSU so far? The are scoring and winning games but their SOS is awful. Hope we can go in there and snag a win.

Their offense is insane and they play terrible defense. Thomas is an absolute stud.
Probably be tough to win there if they play a good game.
But we won in Knoxville, and that's as hard as anyplace in the league, so who the hell knows.

My mind is still blown at the defense we are playing right now. I think our guys are realizing how fun winning big games is and you have to bust your arse to do it.
Love how Rojas is our junk yard dog. If we ever get in a brawl, stay away from that guy.

Truly hope this is who they are now and not just a peak that falls.
It's definitely not a fluke.

I said this last night during the game, but Rojas would have been so damn fun to have during the Gottfried/Stansbury rivalry days in the early to mid 2000's.

I think our schedule sets up perfectly to continue to stay focused and play well coming off two huge wins. You get your rival which should have the team as motivated as any game and then you play at Rupp and every player always wants to beat UK. Hopefully that helps to avoid any lull/letdown.

The step from mediocre to good can really only be accomplished two ways. You either buy a roster of NBA talent like LSU or you get your players to bring it for 40 minutes every single night like Barnes has at Tennessee. The latter is much more difficult, but obviously much more sustainable. Hopefully we are in the process of taking that step, but it's definitely the thing that held Gottfried and Avery back. We consistently played hard under Grant, but without the talent to make it matter.

Hopefully Davison, Wilson, and and Tchikou are taking notes. Would love for them to step in and bring that energy instead of having the slow start like we did this year.

Last season Herb was 1/14 from 3.
This season- 8/16. Oats wasn't kidding when he mentioned his improvement.

Something tells that energy and intensity isn't going to be a problem for JD.
And if the rest of this season looks anything like the last three games have from a focused energy and responsibility standpoint - then I think the culture and expectation within the locker room will have changed to the point where anything less won't be tolerated from the players, much less Oats and staff.

Yea Herbs shooting improvements over 4 years are pretty incredible. He still has his offensive moments, but his shot is so much better.

Reese's numbers probably went the other way.
But yes, Herb deserves more credit than i'm able to give him for the player he's turned into.

Kenpom defensive ranks:
Tennessee 1
Clemson 2
Stanford 8
Ole Miss 17
Florida 38
We averaged 71.8 ppg against those five top 40 defenses while only shooting 31% (40/128) from three point range.

Yeah Oats looks like the real deal. And I think he sees he can win and recruit here so that’s got to be a positive. I mean if a Duke, UNC, or Kentucky came calling we would probably lose him. But I’d feel confident keeping him outside of those top two or three blue bloods.
What about Kansas and Zona? Because those 2 blue bloods are going to be in the market for a new coach when the NCAA gets through with them.
