Ellis has been the most consistent player for us.

Kid doesn't take bad shots, plays great D, and has been solid in the clutch for us.

He knows his role to a T.

Maybe Primo needed the rest that came with getting hurt. He looks like a different player.

Primo obviously didn’t like sitting out. He is so aggressive

He hit that freshman wall and then hurt his knee. Has looked better than ever since he came back

16-2 run now.

As with the Maryland game, the big runs happen with Jones on the bench. As others have posted, while Jones certainly has great strengths, playing the point guard role isn't at the top of the list.

Much like the Maryland game, no drop off with Herb's foul problems.
Looking great so far!

Really liked the podcast where Oats talked about Ark game and foul disparity. He said we can complain about it or be aggressive in getting to the goal and the line. I can see the more aggressive play in taking it to the rim and drawing fouls.

UCLA is a solid team, but I think they might be less athltic and sudden than anybody in the SEC. Maybe Texas A&M?

Just not any quick feet or explosive jumpers.

yeah, but if he were in there Jones might not be in foul trouble so early since Jones wouldn't have to be play "point forward" or whatever you call it, and he wouldn't have been forcing drives that lead to his foul trouble.

Oats couldn't have predicted Herb committing 2 awful fouls in the first 45 seconds of the game.

Quinerly looks so much like Kira around the basket, it’s ridiculous.

ETA: it’s the first step. They react and it’s already too late.

Probably why they rely on mid-range so much. You don't need to be particularly athletic to get those looks.

They haven't let Juzang go crazy. If we hold him to 20 or less, we win easy.

Yea, if we lock Juzang down. I think we have this game.

I just don't think they can get Juzang or Jaime open without running specific stuff out of timeouts.

But we'll see. Those dudes can make contested shots.
