Can you imagine the offense we have with JD, JQ, Shack, Primo, and Tchikou starting? We are gonna have a bit of drop off in D next year losing Herb and Petty but we will have an elite offense imo. Keon Ellis will be still play 30 minutes a game and be our lock down defender but I think he will be the 6th man. We will see.
Regardless of who starts we should be a really good team again next year. The future is bright.

We are in the sweet 16 and have to beat UCLA who was one of the last 4 in to get to the elite 8, let that sink in.
(and yes I know that UCLA is a solid team and that it isn’t a gimme, but I love our chances.)

UCLA will be another version of what we saw last night. They don’t have the horses to beat us. If we lose Sunday, it’ll be our own doing with missed shots and turnovers.

Bro, did BAMA really make it to the Sweet Sixteen or am I still DREAMING? I still can't believe it guys...3 years ago, we was in BAD SHAPE and I'm talking GRAVEYARD DEAD type shoot I'm still STUNNED because I didn't see this coming.

We really wrecked them. Can’t even be mad at the defense cause we shot them out of the gym.

Got several texts during the game from people that either don't watch basketball, or are NBA fans but don't watch much college (except for the tournament). They ranged from "damn, you were right" to "Bama looks like Golden State."
Fantastic all around game, even with our best 2 defenders playing half the minutes they usually do. Petty looked so happy, finally getting his stroke back. Reese is like the heart of this team, and played insanely efficiently with his minutes (still can't believe he was only in for like 16 minutes). Quin taking over the leadership role with Herb out. Hell, just seeing that many guys step up without Herb, it was incredible to see.
Nothing on Sunday will change that this is the best Bama team in my lifetime. Even better then the elite 8 team or the 01-02 2 seed team, even if they lose to UCLA (I was too young to remember Wimp's teams). But we're playing with house money. If we start confident, don't panic and force bad shots, we might still be dancing Easter weekend. Damn, it's been a weird but fun year.

I haven't watched much basketball since the Laker's Showtime era (Lakers fan since I was a kid) but I did watch last night, and watched a bit of some of the games leading up to UA vs Maryland.
So does any team these days feature fast break offense like the aforementioned Lakers team? Are there any dominating low post big men in college basketball this year? Or is it all just live and die by the 3?

Give me last night as our most complete offensive performance of the season.
Hard to top the first LSU game, but Maryland has been a good defensive team all year. They may have had some traits that we were always going to exploit (tendency to pack it in, lack of foot speed, etc.), but they certainly were a better defensive team than early season LSU.
And while we made shots, to me the key was Quinerly. He ran the offense to a degree that I haven't seen all year long.
Just try to think of how many out of control drives we had last night. A couple, maybe? We were very smooth and under control, and a lot of it is because of Quinerly.

Yeah, we knew this had the potential to be a special year, but mid-December this team was 4-3.
Looking back at that moment, it was hard to believe we'd eventually be sitting at 26-6.

Most of them are sitting on the couch now.
The NCAAT has been a guard’s tournament for a while now. Gotta be able to create and make shots to win.
