Mizzou laying a stinker against an OU team that's been awful lately.

So you could see how they might be able to put the clamps on a team that gets its scoring from a couple guards.

It might also mean that they could give our guards some problems.

Also explains how incredibly mediocre they were in a conference full of great bigs.

It helps that UCONN has a bunch of guys you don't have to worry about too much.

They seem to have a rotation of offensively useless small forwards.

I can't pick these games for shite because I literally have barely seen either team play, but if you just took a cursory look at Maryland's rosters and numbers you'd see:

1) they have a shite ton of 6-5, 6'6 guards
2) they have good team defense numbers
3) one of those 6'6 guards (Morsell) was the Big 10 Defensive player of the year

So you could see how they might be able to put the clamps on a team that gets its scoring from a couple guards.

It might also mean that they could give our guards some problems.

One thing I feel better about, is we play the #9 tempo on Ken Pom, Maryland plays at #318 and UConn #299. You never know how a slow team responds to running. They don't see fast tempo as often as we see a slow tempo team.

Obviously they are the coaches and I’m not for a reason, but I have no idea why Gary doesn’t play a lot more minutes.

My only thought on that at this point is that it took him so long to recover from his knee injury that he has only really started to get in game shape over the last month and he's not capable of playing 30 minutes yet.

Assuming Maryland holds on in this game, our game with them will be a war. They okay really good team defense and they’re long. JQ will need to be huge blowing by them.

Be cool if Abilene beat Texas

I almost pulled the trigger on picking that upset.

Staaahhhp!

I've got Tejas on a parlay!

With that said, my 2 cents on the Bama game...

In a tournament atmosphere, we started out strong against state, and slowly regressed until the Lsu game.

I see us continuing to build moving forward in the tournament, but at the same time I expect a shootout in the next game.

If we survive said shootout game (whether it's Uconn or Md) I really like our chances on making a real run fwiw.

Better to start slow and peak late as long as we can get the dubs.

I think y’all would kill them on the kick out three. They’re collapsing hard on the ball when Bouknight drives it in. Maybe they’re just doing that because he’s their only real scoring threat.

They don't have great interior defense. Their guards are largely responsible for preventing dribble penetration in the first place, but if you get past them it's pretty wide open so they have to help a lot.

Yeah, neither of these teams scare me much. They could beat us, if we play like shite, but so could any team in the tournament. But, I have Maryland in my bracket, so let's go terps.

I think this is good defense, but I also think UCONN plants too many guys in the paint and doesn't have good spacing.

Honestly not worried too much about UConn or Maryland. UConn should be dominating looking at the numbers coming into the game.
