If our ceiling this year is that, nobody can complain.

I've decided not to complain about anything aside from a first round loss. After the WKU game I was certain we wouldn't even be on the annual bubble watch. Two conference titles later it's all gravy. You'd obviously like to at least play to seed, but there are some damn good teams we stand to meet starting in round 2.

Tex Southern with 11-0 run to open the 2nd half and take the lead. Impressive.

Yeah, I'm happy for the season already. I might suffer some short term disappointment if we lose in the first two rounds, but anything past that will just be adding to an already great season. Don't get me wrong, I'm really hoping for a deep run. But, anything other than a complete collapse will just be gravy for me.

*edit* I didn't steal TideCPA's thoughts. I'm just a slow phone typer.

If we lose to Iona I'll be......I dunno, I'm not even considering that because it just isn't happening.

If we lose to UConn I'll be disappointed. I won't be mad or pissed or anything, but I'd be disappointed.

Anything past that and there is absolutely nothing but happiness for the season.

We've been past the 1st Weekend of the tournament ONE TIME in the last 30 years. ONE. So, count me in for being tickled to death with the regular season/SECT we had plus a trip to the Sweet 16.

Yea I'm pretty happy already, understatement. I'd love to make the second weekend but it's hoops and you can play well and lose. It happens. Ask LSU.

Just win Saturday.

Man, we definitely got the hottest half of a bracket in the tournament

Last Month

Overall Rank Since February 18
4. UConn (#7 seed) (#10 Off, #10 Def)
7. BYU (#6 seed) (#6 Off, #38 Def)
14. Alabama (#2 seed) (#61 Off, #5 Def)
16. Maryland (#10 seed) (#47 Off, #23 Def)
21. Texas (#3 seed) (#23 Off, #54 Def)

3 teams with seeds > 5 that are ranked in the Top 16 over the last month

I would expect nothing less. I half expect to lose to Maryland (Galin goes for 30) who goes on to win the tournament.

#7 and #10 seeds - Last Month
4. UConn (#7)
16. Maryland (#10)
24. Virginia Tech (#10)
35. Florida (#7)
52. Oregon (#7)
53. Clemson (#7)
63. VCU (#10)
100. Rutgers (#10)

The 2 toughest possible opponents for a #2 seed out of the #7/10s and we have both of them squaring off to play us

Iowa gets the winner of a shitfest between Oregon/VCU and Houston is the all-time winner getting the winner of Clemson/Rutgers.

Rutgers has basically been playing at a #14-15 seed level for the last month

Drake with 6 points in the first 12 minutes against a blah Wichita team

Drake had been playing bad basketball the last month (#96) (below #16 Drexel, #16 Norfolk St, #15 Iona, etc). They seem to be continuing that trend.

Wow, I need to go look and see who they've played in that span or is that adjusted somehow?

I really think the Texas love is overblown. People saw them play 1 good game, looked at their long athletes, fell in love. They are incredibly up and down and they can turn the ball over like wild.

I'm telling you - if we get past UConn (assuming we play them), I'll feel great about the rest of the bracket.

It's adjusted, but yea they've been very good.

Providence (W by 12)
@ Villanova (L by 8)
@ Georgetown (W by 13)
Marquette (W by 18)
@ Seton Hall (W by 11)
Georgetown (W by 16)
DePaul (W by 34)
Creighton (L by 3)

However, really only played 2 Top 25 level teams in there and they lost both. So, we'll see.
